In John Ch 10 V 9 , where Christ refers to himself as the door , Exodus Ch 12 V 1-7 . The Israelites had to have the lamb in their house with them for three days , which are the three years of Christ's ministry . Christ is the door , sprinkled with the blood of his own sacrifice , as the Israelites sprinkled their doors with the blood of the lamb . We are in him , he is the door we entered through when we were baptized into him . We are hidden from the wrath of God which will come upon the world . Safe , in Christ , we don't even need to fear death , as we were buried with him in baptism do shall we live with him in his Father's Kingdom on earth when he resurrects us , if we die before he returns .

    Hey Suze,

If I may add something else these verses point to. On the tenth day of the month, they were to put up a lamb, and on the fourteenth day of the same month, Passover Day sacrifice the lamb and place the blood on the side and upper posts of the door. Jesus, the Lamb of God rode into Jerusalem on the tenth day of Nisan, and He was crucified on the fourteenth day, Passover Day. He gave up the ghost at the same time as they were sacrificing the Passover lambs.

Jesus is the door and if we enter that door we will be saved as the children of Israel on that night, the first Passover, but His door has His blood on the posts, and we will be saved. We are in Him, and He is in us.

    God bless,

Thank you R L W , the synchronisity (if I've spelt that correctly ) between the old and new is so beautiful , I think that its purpose is to strengthen our faith in dark times . God wants us to know that His work is perfect and He is in charge and we can trust Him totally , He sees everything and everyone and He leaves nothing to chance . We need not fear , just trust . That's why I believe that to read and have some understanding of the Old testament is a massive blessing , linking things up strengthens my faith in and love of God's Truth massively . Our eyes see the world but our hearts are elsewhere and fixed on our Father and our Redeemer. Be not soon shaken . Love in Christ to you all .

    Amen Suze,

The old points to the new, a shadow of things that would and will come, our savior Jesus Christ.

The old strengthens our faith by showing us scriptures that have been fulfilled.

Romans 16:26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

The old shows us that God keeps His promises.

Romans 1:2 Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures.

It shows us that Jesus is the Christ.

Acts 18:28 For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publickly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.

Matthew 13:52 Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.

    Both are needed.

    God bless,

    RLW
