I want to find verses concerning man and wife and what authority man has over wife and children
  • GiGi - In Reply - 2 years ago
    Good Morning Gervis,

Thank you for bringing this up. First of all, I think we need to know that God has all authority over all of us. He does not force obedience nor servitude upon us. He loves us and changes us day by day to be more like Him. He tenderly cares for us and fiercely defends us. He provides for our needs even before we ask Him for this providence. He works for our benefit. In Jesus

Christ He sacrificed His life for us to redeem us.

Husbands are to imitate Jesus in regards to how to treat their wife and children and exercise the God-given authority in their families. Wives are to follow their husband's lead and trust him to be wise in His decisions. AS husband and wife, we are to submit one to another, speaking of equal regard for one another.

IF the husband is born again as in John chapter 3

If he studies the Bible and fills his duties as a "priest" over the household and those who live in it: He reports to God for his actions. I Corinthians 7

    Romans 7 & 8

If he is not acting as priest and leader; and has not received salvation with the indwelling Holy Spirit__?

The role of Priest falls to you. You stand between God and the family. It's called "standing in the gap." You can type that in Google and put a comma and type BIBLE. Or , Meaning. You'll see what that means. It's a type of prayer. It's a warriors prayer. You can ask God to send people into your husbands path every day, to witness Jesus to him.

Not only do you stand before God; you also must model after the Proverbs 31 wife and mother. Her husband sang her praises to all his friends; kids too.

If your husband is cruel in speech or other negative behavior, you can ask the Lord to send angels to bring peace in the home. Put all your trust in God to help you; and Pray in the name of Jesus.

You're going to see your home change. You don't have to tell your husband you're "the priest". Just keep your peace, lay the Burdens you experience on Jesus.

Put all your cares, depression, and even your doubts on Jesus. That frees you to be built up in your faith.

Keep coming back here so we can minister to you when you feel weak.

Some of these Scriptures might help you, Gervis; these are more about the godly relationship & responsibilities one has to each other in the family and what a husband/father should expect when nurturing his family in the fear of God.

    Proverbs 15:20; Proverbs 22:6; 1 Corinthians 11:3; Ephesians 5:22-28,33; Ephesians 6:1-4; Colossians 3:18-21; Titus 2:2-8; 1 Peter 3:1-7.
