Many have decided that their long-standing physical disability is an affliction. So they go through life praying instead of being healed. Please explain the difference. Even Paul Asked Lord 3 times to remove his physical ailment without success. However, the Lord kept Paul humble by not removing this physical problem. Is there a difference between affliction and disability? Thank you for any help with this.

Dear Harold Hendrickson God knows how a human life will manifest itself, He also speaks of genealogies. So a cripple from birth does not expect full healing. Nor does the person who has contracted the disease from external stresses. So here man will in a way accept his position.

When it comes to mental health, this can be quite a whole study in fact. There are probably some here on the web who have this to learn out.

When one person seeks too be fully healed, one person seeks the Lord in an urgent way. And it must be so that men will be able to see God's works come into force here on earth (pst i did not find the word i was looking for today,: p)

Personally, i believe that the longing to be healed comes from God Himself. For what does a man know about what is best for them? Our dear Paul finally wore the Lord's marks on his body! Imagine that. Galatians 6:17 And Paul had been told by the Lord, "My grace is sufficient for you." 2 Corintihans 12:9

Even i can say i thank God for everything even my frailties. For when i am humble in myself, He is near with His Good will for little me. Its nothing in me who stand against Him who is my King and Savior. God bless us all in Jesus Christ holy Name above all names, Amen

Hello Harold, Glad to meet you.

In the NT Jesus healed countless people with a variety of ailments and disabilities. When John the Baptist was in prison and asking about Jesus, Jesus' message to him was: the lame walk, the blind see, etc. He healed the blind man in John 9 and the man lowered from the roof who was lame since birth. He brought the girl back to life saying Tabitha come forth as well as Lazarus.

So, I think that anyone should pray for healing in any situation, because in Jesus actions in the NT He healed people gladly with compassion and love. He is the same yesterday, today, and always. In Paul's case, Jesus thought it best for Paul to not be healed. He may still will that some not to be healed. But, I think Paul set a good example of asking again and again.

With respect and affection , I suppose it depends on your own personal interpretation of the words affliction and disability . Here r a few scriptures that may help , Jer Ch 32 V 27 , Exodus Ch 4 V 11 , Philippians Ch 11 V 13 , Romans Ch 8 V 18 , Psalm 73 , Prov Ch 24 V 19-22 , Prov Ch 23 V 17+18 , Proverbs Ch 24 V 29 and Hebrew Ch 2 V 10 . I believe that suffering is an essential part of our growth and development as humans and Christians . It's never much fun when u r in the thick of it , but time heals and hopefully we always learn something from it and we can b better equipped to help others in their sufferings when we have also suffered . Matt Ch 5 V 7 .
