I read that James 4 14 means that our relationships with parents ,children, siblings etc is only temporary. Is this true because I thought our relationships carried over into heaven with our loved ones who are believers. I don't see anywhere in that verse where it says our relationships are only temporary.. can you explain...

I highlighted my search to family in my pocket book Bible, this is what I found Joshua 7:14 speaks about family and households. As far as our relationships carrying over into Heaven, I have not came across any verse since I have been studying that we will reunite with them. I am not saying God forbids it in Heaven maybe only that those who follow Christ will enter the kingdom because not my whole family is Christ-like. But I do pray for them all so they will have a change of heart and accept Jesus into their heart as well.

    Hi Nancy.

James 4:14 (KJV) Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

You're correct I don't see that verse putting any emphasis on family relationships in Heaven.

    God bless.
