Reading Psalm139, I am reminded of the greatness of God, especially His omni-presence and omniscience. Verses 1-6 speaks of God's all knowing. vs, 3 says God is acquainted with all of my ways, among other things. Then in vs, 6 the Psalmist says, "Such knowledge is too wonderful for me. It is high, I cannot attain it.
Verses 7-12 speaks of how God is everywhere at once. God Spirit and so, there is no place in all creation that her is not present. This speaks to the immensity of God. As pure Spirit in His essence He us not composed of matter and is not confined to a single location by a form. Not only is He present in all of the universe, He also lives in the realm outside time and space which occupied only by God's essence.
Verses 13-15 speaks God forming each individual in the womb. This assure me that I was made by God and have worth to Him.
Vs.14b "Marvelous are Your works."
Verses 15-18 speak again of God's knowing. even what we see as past, present, and future. verses 16-18 "Your eyes saw my substance; being yet unformed (He saw me as I will be in eternity before I was even conceived). And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet were none of them."
I have been studying God's attributes for a few months now. yesterday and today I was reading on His Infinity, which indicates that there is no lack in Him of any attribute or degree of any attribute. And His Immensity, since His being has no limits or bounds, He can fill everything with His presence.
His Eternity in which in him is no time or temporal aspects. He sees "the end from the beginning" all at once, independent of time, not in sequence like we do, being dependent on time. This is why He speaks about Jesus being slain from before the foundation of the world (time) and that we were elect before the beginning of time. Before He created anything, He knew ALL history for ALL persons across ALL time, not as event following event following event, but instantaneously.
