Peter was kind of gruff and rough around the edges Until he met Jesus. Peter was a fisherman but he had a healthy knowledge of scripture. The ways he changed, following Jesus on his travels is remarkable. (Except for the "ear" incident.
The Pharisees were powerful, but they thought themselves far above the "regular people".
Jesus is the son of God, but He was very grounded as a human. He identified with everyone. He communicated laterally; not high above other peoples experience. People naturally gravitate to someone who speaks their language: uncomplicated and down to earth.
Jesus didn't entertain people. He taught on their level of experience. Quite a difference between Pharisees and Fishermen, Tax collectors and women followers.
It takes being versatile I think. I like people who can make me see things from their view. Jesus was anointed in Luke 4:18. He had all gifts of the Holy Spirit. You can often see the word of knowledge in operation.
I don't think people care for how we all communicate to each other these days. Media and social networks have brought us down to levels never experienced before in history. Our President uses buzz words. Word fights in Congress too.
I notice a man who has temperance and an elegance of thought and speech; someone who unites and divides, intelligently (emphasis on gently). I also think we should be forgiving when it's merited; because Jesus taught it.
I watch speeches ALOT. I like someone who keeps emotions level, and presses for the "point". I think good use of humor is genius.
Good even in your comment you spoke about watched speeches. aim truly interested in do the same. For one so i learn to speak more elegant and to be able to articulate my thoughts and ideals more effectively. i grow up when meeting a person, we talk face to face and had conversations. Now it seems as though most people prefer texting and social media activity. I also believe that God is also preparing me to preach, teach and warn. It not too many mentors that you can trust to lead you right.
May you Continue to be cover with blood of Jesus. Amen

Reading Scripture and Looking Forward - In Reply - 2 years ago
Years ago I felt like God was telling me to slow down. When I did, I begin to see how Moses would write. He'd be really into it and be interrupted. He'd write a part 1, be interrupted, write part 2. Next he would add some pages on part one; and write part 3. That's why Genesis seems choppy until you realize he was like many of us. Sailing along on a thought_ and someone will drag us away to solve a problem or just sit and watch a sunset till the stars appear.
I'm not saying to lay down a project indefinitely. I get up early to watch sunrise with the Lord, and drink coffee. It's silent, then "the first bird will chirp. Slowly all the birds wake and Praise the Lord. Then the trees give God a "wave offering." The clouds wake with the sun. It makes me happy and i sing too (like a frog).
In John 3, Jesus is telling Nicodemas that the wind flows here and there, as does the Holy Spirit. He's very precious to Jesus. How we respond to the Holy Spirit matters. He always "tells us" of Jesus. What is He showing us today in the Scriptures?
I'm 70 now and sometimes it feels like life is speeding up in some kind of tornado. I get exasperated with the crazy pace of this world. Sometimes I'm aware I'm being called to sit with the Holy Spirit to be ministered to, by Him.
Some are not willing to drop everything that is screaming for attention, to just sit in His presence and be healed of problems and annoyances. I sit and open my Bible to Proverbs (the book of Wisdom) and the storm calms down. My thoughts wander over into a future day, in Heaven, WITH this incredible Godhead who is everywhere.
I think we're all going to be very happy to live forever in heaven. I get excited about riding on white horses With Jesus into the final war on earth; although it saddens me the people who will still refuse Jesus as the Lord.
The consistent teaching of the apostles and the church over the centuries is that God is a unity of three Persons in One Being, the
Father Son and Holy Spirit. All three Persons share the same eternal, unchanging, infinite divine nature. All three have always
existed. The first person is the Father of the second Person, the Son. The third person is the Holy Spirit. There are not three
Gods, but One in three persons. The Son is eternally begotten of the Father, having never having a beginning. Neither does the
Holy Spirit have a beginning, but with the Father in this Godhead are eternal, self-existent, and totally divine. This is a mystery
to us, but the Scriptures talks of the Godhead. One God/Three Persons, all equally divine, all equally eternal, all equally infinite,
all equally unchanging, all equally complete, all equally perfect.
Read John 10:30 Romans 1-20 Colossians 2:9

Praise God! keep Jesus as our point of reference.

Always look forward; not backwards. Mishael
