    How do I help my husband understand the Trinity and the fact that Jesus now sits on the right hand of God in heaven?
  • WHAT IS THE GODHEAD - In Reply - 2 years ago
    The word Trinity came through the Catholic religion. Triune means three.

    God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit are called THE GODHEAD in scripture; in the approved KING JAMES BIBLE.

    There are many, many scriptures showing the Godhead working together; and speaking to each other.

    Paul clears it up in ROMANS 1:

    18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who HOLD THE TRUTH in unrighteousness;

    19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath SHOWED IT unto them.

    20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and GODHEAD; so that they are without excuse

    21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

    22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

    [The Scriptures about the Godhead. Sometimes called "Let Us..." in some passages. These scriptures are evidence of all 3 persons of the Godhead speaking to each other.]

    Genesis 1:26, 3:22, 11:7

    Isaiah 6:8

    Romans 1:20

    Colossians 2:9

    Acts 17:27-30

    1 John 5:7

    John 10:30

    (there are many more)

    I hope this helps you. Mishael

    Genesis 1:26 "And God said, Let us make man in our image"

    ("us" is plural. God is plural.)

    1 John 5:7 "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."

    "there are three"

    John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

    "Word was God."

    There is no denying this says and means the Word was God. Who is the Word? The rest of John 1 reveals who.

    John 8:19 "if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also."

    Philippians 2:5-8 "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:"

    "Christ Jesus...being in the form of God"

    Matthew 28:19 "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:"

    Deuteronomy 6:4 "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:"

    John 14:10 "Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works."

    John 20:28

    "And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God."

    1 John 5:8 "And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one."

    1 John 2:22-24

    "Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father."

    In my experience, get him to read in the KJV about Trinity. He needs to believe the Bible, instead of his own beliefs.

    I agree with T Levis on this . When some one is first starting out on their Biblical journey , it can b confusing to hear , from people , terms that r not in the Bible . There is enough information in the Bible to keep most of us busy for a lifetime , adding non Biblical terms can throw newbies off track and distract them from the important stuff that is actually in the Bible . My advice ? Just encourage him to read it , all of it and ask questions from others who have read and understood it as best as we can in this life . U could tell him about this web site . Hope u both enjoy growing closer to God through His Word .

    Pray and ask God to give you wisdom. Ask God to open the understanding of both your hearts. A good prayer to pray is one the Apostle Paul wrote in Ephesians 1:15-23. You have planted the seed. Allow God to do the watering. God bless you and your family!

    I wouldn't push the Trinity, because that word itself isn't in the Bible.

    Scripture for Jesus being one with the Father, & sitting at the right hand of GOD.;

    John 17, John 10, Hebrews 1, John 1, Hebrews 12, 1Peter 3:22, Acts 7:55,56, Romans 12:5, Romans 12, Ephesians 4:4,5,6, Ephesians 4, 1Corinthians 10:16,17, 1Corinthians 12:12,13, 1Corinthians 12, 1Timothy 2:5, 1Corinthians 11:3, John 3:15,16, John 16:23,

    * John 14,

    Hopefully these are helpful
