How many tribulations are supposed to be in the end times
  • Daniel Lindenbaum - In Reply - 2 years ago
Amen brother Giannis. I've written an extension to this rapture study in the link and I have a separate study which outlines all Bible verses which uniquely distinguish the pre-tribulation rapture from the 2nd coming. There equally as many (if not more) verses in the Bible which pertain strictly to the 2nd coming and thus, many often get confused between the two or try placing the two together.

jesus-is-savior. com "search 'The Rapture Explained'"

All Bible verses used on the site are KJV only to keep in sound doctrine with kingjamesbibleonline.org

Replacement theology has been around since about 300 A.D. but from the 1800's - early 2000's there was almost no mention of replacement theology (mid-rapture, post-trib rapture, millennial rapture, etc) until around 2012. Mainline denominations often adopt or replace common Biblical facts for substitutionary doctrine and deem the others as "old" or "incorrect." I'm trying to understand how it is that nearly all the early theologians believed in pre-tribulation rapture. They weren't ignorant of discerning the Word of God but let me put it like this: did you ever think we'd live to see mega churches telling you "god wants you to be a millionaire" "pray more for miracles & signs than simple Salvation and sanctification" "we don't need old worship with hymns, let's bring the bands of the world into the church and just change the words?" The church has fallen far from God and our only Hope is in Christ and His Holy Word brother.

I once found a church on internet that was full of christians, thousands of them. OK I said to myself let me listen what they preach. Everything I heard was about money. Do this, do that and God will blless you, you will get more money, you will get a promotion, you will get a new house, a new car and so on. People attending the service seemed to be sooo happy, they were smiling and cheering all the time. Then I looked for that church in wikipedia. As you can understand it was a church teaching the gospel of prosperity. The pastor lives in a multi million house. Well he probably thought if that is what people like to hear let them hear it and pay for it.

Now as far as miracles are concerned I may disagree with you. Just look at the Book of Acts. On Pentecost thousands believed because they heard the tongues. After that thousands again believed when Petsr healed that disabled man in Solomon's Temple. Then Philip goes to Samaria and thousands believe when seeing the miracles he performed. Same with Cornelious, same with apostle Paul, same with Sergius Paulus and so on. If there weren't miracles the preaching of Gospel wouldn't have such results. I think this is what we lack in and need nowadays. God has to show His power, has to recommend His people, otherwise people don't believe in God. Modern times are the times that Science has become the new Idol. People believe everything that scientists say, right and wrong. That sometime long ago a sponge become a monkey who became a man and here we are, billions of people, a huge civilizarion, billions of books, maths, physics, chemistry, mechanics ..from a monkey. They really believe that. My brother, only the power of God can change that Please recall that in the time of antichrist the 2 martyrs will perform miracles, an angel will preach from the sky. It is the only way that people will get up from their sleep. That is what we pray for over here where I live, and we have promises that God will gift His Church

    GBU brother

Amen brother. There are certain things which I believe according to the Revelation have been fulfilled. However, I do believe miracles and healing never ceased. In fact, we know that it's true -- everyone knows of one instance in their life in which someone they know turned to Christ in time of need and was healed. When Captain Sulley (whether he was Christian or not) landed that plane in the Hudson; that only could have been done if God allowed it. I've been in aviation for years and ditch landings (landing on water); 99% lead to catastrophic breakup of an aircraft. When people call it a miracle, that's true. But they don't often give God that credit. What I do sometimes criticize is that many modern churches focus more on miracles and healing ; rather than traditional worship, alter calls and Biblical teaching. The focus on signs is to keep people reliant on the physical church, place their faith (and money) in a man and most never get saved. Now, if you go to fundamental congregation and pray for healing; I guarantee they're going to pray for your healing. The only difference is -- they won't ask you for your bankroll as it's a work of God and God's not a vending machine. I think the fear of God has departed from many. If they feared God, they would not do such things in vanity.

But I think we're in accord brother and I like your preaching! Keep it up because many here in this page need that.

    Dear John

If you mean the tribulation that will occur in the world during the time that antichrist will rule on earth, then it is one but the opinions for when it happens (in accordance to rapture) are two: (there are subdivisions as well)

    1. After rapture. So rapture precedes tribulation.

1a. After antichrist's appearance in the world in the beginng.

2a. Midway the 7 years that he'll rule on earth.

    2. Before rapture. In this case rapture occurs at the very end after the fight of Armageddon

This is probably the closest to a correct answer I've even seen posted this site. 1. & 1a.

The rapture would not occur anytime after, the Biblical teachings of the rapture (over 28 verses in the Bible which relate directly to a pre-tribulation rapture). The mid-tribulation, post-tribulation, millennial rapture teachings have a relatively dark history. Two of them (I believe they're the oldest false teachings of the 3 latter mentioned) teach that the rapture has already happened and as has the tribulation. There's another one which states everything was literal in the Bible and also already came to pass. The sects that teach that also believe that state that the streets of gold Christ talks about were not Spiritual but literal streets in Jerusalem.

This used to be a relatively clear topic in theology but modern ministries have completely polluted. As I've written in a previous post -- there's no need to speculate: will Christians endure the 7-year tribulation? Satan would have some believe that and steal your peace.

"Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth." - Revelation 3:10

I have an entire study on this which also gives historical account of members of the early church (post Revelation) who wrote about the pre-tribulation rapture and wrote about it.

Thanks Daniel, my belief is the same. Rapture will occur just before the appearance of antichrist in the world, tribulation is after (probably after the first half of the "week" which means that antichrist will use the first half of the "week" to establish his authority and then force people to accept his mark), otherwise many verses in the Bible just don't fit together. About that study of yours, can you share it or give a link to it or smt else? GBU

Sorry but I have to correct my previous post

1a. Rapture occurs before the appearance of antichrist

2a. Rapture occurs in the midway the seven years that antichrist will rule on earth. Immediately after rapture the tribulation will take place.

Hello John. I only recall there is only one Tribulation still to come. It is called, The Great Tribulation ( Matthew 24:21). Jesus said in John 16:33, "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." Here, 'tribulation' is simply the sufferings, hardships, even persecutions that we all might face (as also Romans 8:35; 2 Corinthians 7:4; etc.). But the Great Tribulation that Jesus speaks of, & other epistle writers also refer to, is the time of the outpouring of God's Wrath ( Revelation 6:17; Revelation 16:1; 1 Thessalonians 5:9; Ephesians 5:6); an anger against the accumulated wickedness of Earth's inhabitants which cannot be held back by Him any longer. The deaths & devastation will be frightening to say the least & the world will know that this is the Anger of the Lord upon them & none will be innocent bystanders - all those left on Earth will stand guilty before Him.

Tribulation definition online: "a cause of great trouble or suffering"

    Deuteronomy 4:29,30,31, 1Samuel 26:24, Matthew 13:20-21, John 16:33, Acts 14:22, Romans 5:3, Romans 8:35-39, Romans 12:12, 2Corinthians 1:3-5, 1Thessalonians 3:4, 2Thessalonians 1:6, Revelation 1:9, Revelation 2:9,10,22,

There seems to be a difference between tribulation & The great Tribulation,

    Matthew 24:21, Romans 2, Revelation 7:14,

    Matthew 24:3-51, Mark 13:4-37,
