In verse 17 it says, "Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean". Later in the chapter the meaning of the trance is explained in verse 28 where Peter says, "And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean." The meaning of his trance has nothing to do with food, rather his command to go to the gentiles, and that God had purified or cleaned the gentiles. Yes, praise God now a gentile like myself (Not of Jewish decent.) can be cleansed and accepted or adopted into the family of God by accepting Jesus Christ. Have you been adopted into Gods family. Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your savior. If you have then you too are cleansed.
