I rely & believe in the Bible. I am reaching out as I am in a state of shock along with friends as my friend committed suicide .She was a person one would never think would be capable of wanting to or be able to do this. No warning signs. Yes she was a Christian .She was 64 years old. She shot herself in the chest. I have been trying to figure out did I miss something as are my other friends . Please say a prayer for her family & friends. I have been following this site for a long time ,including it with my daily Bible study. I don't post often. Her name is Donna.
I am so very sorry you have to go through this emotional experience. Let me pray for you and your friends: Dear Father, I pray for the Donna's friend, who felt so overwhelmed, she probably felt it would be even more overwhelming to burden her friends. Until we understand others and ourselves can be so overwhelmed and drawn into a vacuum, and in a mode of caring, protect burdening others with our struggles, the least we want is to cause our loved ones to feel it is their fault. For those of use who are in the midst of one who had decided to take their life, let us step away from blame, and grieve the moment of the event. We are not always aware of things bothering an individual, and might not be knowledgeable because of its hiddenness. This is a difficult time for Donna and I pray that in her grief, You profoundly speak to her heart to bring her peace, rest, and an understanding as You know she can understand. May she find focus on the memories shared and had brought joy in her friend's life, and know that Your love and compassion is always in the presence. Thank you for taking care of Donna's friend as you watch over her in her rest, until the day You call her upon Your trumpet call, for she is forever your child, and the light that shown upon this earth you keep constant gaze upon, knowing where each of your children are, and unceasingly delighting - in all things - that Yours remain the light in Your sight, and in Your love. You know our struggles in the sinful earth, and you grieve that we struggle upon it, and so Your compassion to our overwhelmness is with grace and mercy. It is Your heaven, and it is Your call to bring us home. Thank you, Father.
