I have a question! If you pass away before you except Jesus Christ as your Saviour do you ever get another chance too?
  • Spunky - In Reply on 2 Corinthians 4 - 2 years ago
    Shirley,

Unfortunately, and sorry to say, the short answer is, "no." I'm glad you've accepted Christ and that question is not for you. To me, this is why the Gospel is so convincing/convicting. I believe the Bible makes it very clear upon death that our fate is sealed, or your name is in the "Book of Life" or not. This is why we're preached, "Come to Jesus, be saved, choose, surrender, time is short, be ready, spread the "Good news" gospel." Link

The closest you could come to this; for the living to be in the tribulation. Much controversy about that. Yet, not really. Jesus comes and takes His Church/gentiles (by REV 4, no mention afterwards). Our chapter is done as we know it - literally. It now goes back to God's promise for the Jews, His chosen people. I don't know how this will technically work for a gentile in tribulation, but it seems by now, you will have to give your life by total sacrifice/Martyrdom and deny the world/mark/beast ( Rev 13,14) Even so, you'd not be wise to gamble in tribulation, by REV 6 scrolls are unsealed and only goes south from there.

Hope that helped. I'm sorry if you knew someone that didn't or unsure if they accepted Christ. I battle with this for my own loved ones --the burden is real. In Christ,

    Dear Shirley,

Your question indicates to me that you have not excepted the Lord as your savior! If you had or have, this question is a question that does not apply to a Born again Son or Daughter of the Savior ! Christ died one time for the sins of the world. Do you think He must die twice? The word chance is not in Gods vocabulary! Those who come to Him must believe He is!

Jesus said if we are lukewarm He will spew us out of His mouth! I 'm not sure how more plain than that, the Holy Spirit could be!

    In Christ, Fred

    Shirley;

    There are TWO resurrections.

Those God GAVE to HIS Son Jesus, The CALLED and CHOSEN, were resurrected with Christ.

Revelation 20:6 Blessed and Holy is he that hath PART in the first resurrection ....

Luke 20:34 Neither can they DIE ANYMORE: for they are equal unto the angels, and are the children of God, being the CHILDREN OF THE RESURRECTION.

Those not Called and not Chosen, will die and lay in the grave, along with those that have die from the beginning.

At the second resurrection EVERYONE in the graves will be resurrected back to their earthly flesh; AND JUDGED.

Psalms 149:9 To execute upon them (those at the second resurrection) the JUDGEMENT WRITTEN, this HONOUR hath all his SAINTS (those in the first resurrection).

Isaiah 26:9 .....when thy JUDGEMENTS are in the earth (second resurrection) the inhabitants of the world WILL LEARN RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Romans 8:19 For the earnest EXPECTATION of the creature WAITETH (in the grave) for the MANIFESTATION of the Sons OF GOD (those in the first resurrection, that will be their JUDGES).

Romans 8:21 Because the creature ITSELF shall be DELIEVERED from the bondage of corruption (the grave) into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

1 Corinthians 15:28 ...that God may be ALL IN ALL.

    God Bless YOU!

We have to keep in mind what Jesus said....I come not to destroy mens lives but to save mens lives...Its only our old adamic nature that man of sin...The tare....A type of Judas ...That is gonna be destroyed....Keep in mind that it is our God that is the Consuming fire which is his judgement...But his judgement is also his love for us....WHOM THE LORD LOVETH he chastens....Every sinner will have their part in the lake of fire...Which is his baptism of the H.G and Fire...That Place of torment is only for satan and his angels and mans adamic nature which is in rank with satan....But Jesus has already chosen ALL OF US...You have not Chosen me but i have chosen you...@ THE CROSS VIA HIS BLOOD WE WERE ALL CHOSEN....Its just our old adamic nature that is in rank with satan that is not CHOSEN....God so loved the world...Every sinner has already been written in his blood...that BOOK that he wrote with his own blood....He washed everybody with his blood at Calvary.

Shirley Jesus told the thief on the cross this day you will be with me in Paradise...Which is the result of the New Covenant in his BLOOD...Even in the O.T. when i see the blood i will pass over you...Thats y Jesus is saying if I belifted up I will draw all men unto me...Thats y scrip. is saying in ADAM we all die but in Christ we will ALL live...At the great white throne judgement GOD That NEW Covenant. will see the BLOOD OF HIS LAMB

.....Thats y John was preaching behold the lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world...impling every body

.....The bible cd not refer to Jesus as the 2 nd ADAM IF HIS BLOOD WAS NOT APPLIED TO EVERY man.....Just as the stain and the spot of adam was applied to every man.

.....Jesus cd not have told the thief on the cross this day you will be with me...If all sinners were not saved in the end...As God is no respector of persons.

We hear the word, Then we believe the words of Jesus, Then we Repent of our sins, Then we confess that Jesus is the Christ, Then we are baptized into Christ, Then we live faithful till Jesus returns. Accept Jesus Before your Second Death. Be Prepared. Jesus wants us all to accept him. Bible mentions nothing about a second chance... Read it daily study it.

1st off; GOD is highly intelligent and is JUDGE. HE created all the stars and knows them by name. HE knows when a single hair falls from HIS creatures. HE is a heart knower and only judge who is a righteous and just JUDGE. No one will perish that doesn't deserve too ( Romans 14:12). There is no 2nd chances but there are many who never got a 1st chance. It is written the millennium will be a time of teaching. The elect will be able to go to sister/brother/near kin and try to save them.

John 5:25 There will not be 1 soul that will perish that want have a chance to choose to side with GOD or Satan, choice completely theirs.

    Revelations 20:6

The things for us to know have been revealed but also more shall be revealed in the future (PLEASE read: 1 Corinthians 13:9-12); however, what we do know is that it's absolutely necessary to accept Truth prior to leaving this Earth, especially if one deems it necessary to be at peace with The CREATOR here on Earth, and also in the Afterlife. Obviously, the only other option is to spend the Afterlife in fire described as being seven times hotter than Earthly fire, in utter darkness, with a hellified angry Satan, and his demons, and other things that are guaranteed to bring indescribable torture in a place that could only be described as Hell; and that itself, will be cast into the Lake of Fire that burns... brimstone Revelation 20:10 &

    Revelation 21:7-8:

7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his GOD, and he shall be My son.

8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

At least on Earth, we are given the opportunity to repent, or to get it right, and keep it right as King David did but the Afterlife, has more sense of an irrevocable permanence.

    St. John 3:5-7

JESUS answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of GOD.

6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

7Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

    2 Peter 2:21

"For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them."

    Hebrews 9:27

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Read the Book of John; especially chapter 3. We come to Jesus because we realize we can't be perfect. Jesus was willing to die for us, so we could live eternally with Him.

He came to earth to live as a human, perfectly without sinning; so He could be the one to pay your sin debt.

Your first step is to admit to yourself, and then to Jesus; that you miss it. Like we all do. I miss it and many others do. But now we actually rejoice because Jesus paid for all of our sins: past, present, and future.

I hope you choose Him today. There's links all over this website to explain the choice you decide on. We are always here for you. Ask any questions you have.

I would encourage anyone reading the Bible to do a study on perfection in a believer. We have all sinned and come short of the glory of God, but after we have been cleansed from sin (not just covered) we are to go on to perfection. Hebrews 6:1. Luke 6:40 states "The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master". We are called to be like Christ.

No and there is no purgatory .Why would you want to wait to accept Jesus as your Saviour

    He is our Advocate .

Hello Shirley. I believe as residents of this Earth & hearers of this Good News of salvation, we are obliged to make a response to Jesus while there is still breath in our bodies. Once we depart this life, there remains no further opportunity. Hebrews 9:27 states, "it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment". No second chances or opportunities - only God's Judgement awaits all those who have refused Him & His Offer of Love.

And this is also why Jesus, after he arose from the grave, gave commmandment to His disciples in Matthew 28:18-20, to go & share this Good News, teaching them, baptizing them after they believe, & to obey His Commandments. And the disciples, after they were filled with the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, did just that, sharing the Gospel in the regions near & beyond, & bringing those who would be saved into the fold of Christ. If this sense of grave responsibility & urgency wasn't there, it could well mean that there was still hope for people after the grave. But this is not the case. People need to hear this message now - tomorrow might be too late for them. Many refuse to hear, but we pray that God will direct our steps & our voices to those appointed to receive eternal life. At least to our loved ones, friends & associates, this Good News must be shared that they not be consigned to the place of eternal punishment.
