Mishael , I have a question for you , please can you help me ? My mom recently bought me a present , it's a little silver necklace with some very small gems in the formation of the constellation of Cancer . I don't think she meant it as a gift pertaining to my astrological sign , just the constellation that was in the sky when I was born . Obviously I have nothing to do with astrology , I'm a bit uneasy about wearing it and I've only done so a couple of times when I was going to visit my mom , just to please her , but it meant that I had to take off my tiny silver cross that I usually always wear . Do you think it's ok for me to wear it when I visit my mom ? I don't intend to wear it any other time as the much prefer my little silver cross . Thanks .

Hello, I don't think Mishael checks this comment section. l read your question, I will give you my opinion, an example I went through & scriptures I find relevant. Hopefully these are all helpful.

1st if we're personally bothered in our spirit about something it may be the HOLY Spirit telling us it's wrong. Ephesians 4:30, John 14:23-26, 1Corinthians 2:10-16,

2nd if we're doubtful, is that also indication it's wrong? Romans 14:22-23, scripture in context, whole chapter: Romans 14,

3rd, is this were loving GOD, hating your ._.__ comes in? Are we willing to serve GOD over love of family? Luke 14:26,

4th, Luke 14:27, not being a cross you put in your pocket, around your neck or on the wall: Micah 5:12,13, Deuteronomy 18:9-14, Nahum 1:14, Deuteronomy 4:14-20, Deuteronomy 4:23-25, I even have personal conviction about wearing a cross, since I accepted JESUS as my Savior at young age. Something just bothered me inside about it spiritually. Even though some were special "Christian" gifts. & many people wear them.

5th, One day recently, I saw a "Christian" bookstore selling crucifixion nails as jewelry. I cringed. Then I thought if someone was killed, raised again from the grave; would that person eagerly embrace another that had the weapon or thing that tortured & caused the pain & death, hung around their neck? or would they feel multiple emotions triggered by it? I thought of someone wearing a pill, bullet, ect. of a loved one, in resemblance, remembrance.

    Luke 14,

6th, sometimes we're an example to others, in these matters set before us as tests. 1Corinthians 10:13,14, James 1:12, 2Corinthians 3:2,

    Hopefully helpful

Thank you so much , I don't wear a crucifix , just a small plain silver cross , I think it's because I like every one to know I'm a Christian and I believe ( though I could be wrong ) that strangers have seen this on me and spoken to me because they have seen it and they have felt safe and comfortable talking to me . It's a bit disconcerting but literally every time I leave home to go any where at least one stranger talks to me , in the bus stop in the supermarket in the bank it doesn't matter where I go , now I'm not young and gorgeous so it can't be that smiley face , I'm sure it's my little silver cross that puts people at ease with me , also it helps me to remember who I am and what is expected of me , it's a bit like a banner that I feel as if I'm representing and I had better do the right thing if I'm going around wearing it . Hope I have explained myself properly , you are definately right about the necklace my mom bought me , I'm usually good at listening to that small still voice so , I'm not gonna wear it again . Thank you for prodding my conscience , you are right about this . Part of the problem is that my mom isn't good with emotions so the way she shows she cares is either to buy a little gift or to feed me . If I hadn't moved out on my own when I did I would have been a very big girl ! Thanks again and may God bless you .

I miss my mother so much.a few months before she died; she always got up and made her oatmeal herself. I had left my raggedy Bible on the table and she was looking at all my scribbles and notes. Got my coffee and sat down.

The Holy Spirit just filled the room and I knew it was the anointing__for her.

I said, do you ever wonder what heaven will be like? She said yes. I said, people we loved and miss terribly will be there. Jesus will be there with us, every day.

I said I know how very much you loved Dad. Have you ever thought of what it will be like to learn every day, what Jesus likes, loves, his laugh? Or does He enjoy porch sitting like you do; with a couple of cats waiting for belly rubs? With Dad nearby maybe?

She said yes very much. I left my Bible on the table all the time after that. Every day she would eat her oatmeal and read. Couple of times she took it to her rocking chair.

I was sick when she went to my nieces home for 2 weeks.

My sister was with her, and she said my mother began to smile up at the wall. Like she was seeing someone. Then she left us.

We never know how easily the Lord can reach people who have Alzheimer's or dementia.

Maybe we should ask them (parents) have they considered daily life, in heaven with Jesus? Maybe find our oldest ragged Bible we scribbled notes all over and underlined 3 times. It's personal, and eternal.

Thank you so much for sharing that personal information , it sounds from your posts , that you had a very interesting family life , you are very fortunate to have had such a close warm family , all our experiences are so important to getting us where we are supposed to be and God leaves nothing to chance , if we trust in Him He will always give us what we need . My mom is a very complex person , she is a diagnosed psychopath and narcissist so she's not always easy to be around . I have to have my emotional guard up with her . When I was young I took everything she did and said very personally , that was not good for me . Some years ago she told me about her diagnosis and this was such a relief to me . It's helped me so much to understand that she just can't help being who she is and it's not my fault . Our relationship has improved now I know that most of the time she's not trying to be nasty and I've grown a few extra layers of skin smiley face . She's quite vulnerable now and needs my help a lot , if she hadn't told me about her diagnosis I would be struggling to help her but now I understand her better it means I can be a better daughter to her . God puts people in our lives to teach us important lessons , we can all learn so much from each other , on here and in the world , our whole lives as Christians in this world are about learning to be as good a Christian as we can be . Much love to you in Christ .

It is what the Holy Spirit says, that matters. You sound to me to be one that is listening to His still small voice. Your mother only wanted you to know the day of your birth, was the best day of her life. She had you come into her life.

If you wanted to take a zodiac symbol off and have jeweler put on a cross, I don't think your mother would mind. Or you could have 2 necklaces made :)

one for you and your mother. It would mean a lot to her.

Thanks for replying to me , I also don't think she meant it to be about astrology and that' was a really cool idea of yours . I've worn it to visit her twice so I think that's probably enough to satisfy her , I shall stick to my little silver cross now , thanks again and much love in Christ .
