I have been praying for this horrible situation. I was teaching Kindergarten when the Newtown school massacre occurred during school hours. It really hit home to me then knowing it could happen at my school since we were across the street from the high school.
Dear Lord Jesus, I pray that you will comfort each grieving family who has lost a child to this senseless killing and for the family of the teacher who was killed and their Dad who died of a heart attack in the following days. Have mercy on them all and help them to heal and strengthen one another who share this loss. I pray that you draw near to each child affected by this situation. They are so young and have a lifetime to live yet. This trauma is really immense to them. Please help them heal, be comforted, continue to know that they have a hope and a future ahead of them. I speak against any attempts of the enemy to bring them into depression and mental effects from this trauma. I ask that You repel all of the vile ways the enemy wishes to further damage these children to steal their hope and joy in life and draw them to doubt You and Your goodness or to reject the gospel of Your salvation. Keep those who believe in You in strong faith and bring many of these children who do not yet believe to a deep and abiding faith in You. We pray for the townspeople of Uvalde. Lord help them in this crisis and flood their town and homes with love and comfort. In Your name, Jesus, we pray.
