Someone recently commented on the deletion of posts or objections with site moderation. I'd ask anyone, are we here to bash someone's beliefs because we claim they're false or to edify each other with the word of God.
Under "specific rules" see #11. I've seen respectful disagreement with those who post on here and others who are downright vehement to say "this isn't biblical" and alienate others from posting.
Calling others 'soft', fools or otherwise doesn't belong in this site discussion. Read what you type before you post and think.
James 3:6
"And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell."
I absolutely agree Andy , most of us on here are either actual commited Christians who are strong in our faith or newbies looking for some help , however none of us should ever think that we know everything there is to know about the Bible and arrogance should not be a part of any Christians attitude , even us oldies can still learn plenty if we are prepared to listen to each other with open hearts and minds , we were all newbies once and we should try to remember that and also that however old we are or long we have been reading the Bible there is still plenty for all of us to learn . This site has taught me many great and wonderful things about the Bible and about myself , not least of all I have learnt to bite my tongue and to not get into pointless circular arguements . I hope to hear more from you and God bless you .
Thank you Suze and for sharing edifying comments here. Christ Jesus commanded that we love our brother (sisters in Christ too) and a command from Christ is shows He wants us to walk like Him. He laid down His life for us and called us His friends. To think, the God and Creator of the universe to do that for us.
What appalls me is the vehement comments that were posted in the main Bible Discussion page the other day. Someone complained that a post was deleted and I saw the post prior to it's deletion. In short, the author wrote, "modern churches preach the 'easy way' doctrines of the rapture, once saved always saved..." The author goes as far as to mock Salvation by Grace through Faith. Now, it offended me because it's blasphemous to deny Salvation above anything else and this guy was so passionate to carry this message that it was posted more than one time.
Do those who post these not know that Christ left a body (the church) and he expects that without spot or wrinkle. About loving the brethren, we should be showing that in the way we comment to others on this site.
Matthew 5:22 - But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
Thank you for that timely reminder of how we should treat and speak to our fellow Christians . I do get genuinely confused about people who believe we go to heaven and also they believe in the rapture . I don't really understand how people can believe in these two things at the same time . I'm sometimes nervous to ask people about their beliefs because it seems that some people respond a bit aggressively to genuine questions and don't realise that it's a genuine question and take it as an attack , these aggressive attitudes and responses have definately stopped me from asking people genuine questions about their beliefs .
I'm not sure there would be reason to ask unless we need an understanding of how that works. Which I'll listen to if it can be refuted with the Bible. Sometimes I read doctrines I don't agree with but the person isn't writing out of contempt or to try to indoctrinate me. So, I move on.
I feel if everyone spoke to eachother eye to eye on the deeper matters...there'd be a whole lot less misunderstanding too.
I agree, there's a way to disagree in a polite way but there's when someone starts preaching "the rapture doesn't exist, Salvation by Grace doesn't exist, eternal security doesn't exist;" I have to say -- it that how we should be writing on the King James Bible Online? Are comments like that going to draw fellowship or create harsh division. I disagree with every point he made but it's the way he said it too. He wrote it to try to shame those that believe.
There are plenty of things I disagree with in churches today but I'm not here to bring about divisions. I believe in lifting up others with the word; not searching for ways to mock offend the brethren.
1 John 3:16 - Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
That's the love we ought to have. Also I agree with you, attention is needed to the other tabs of discussion especially the 'prayer requests' side of things. Sometimes when a prayer request is being written here - it's because that person has no where and no one else to write to.
I probably missed all the discussion around this, but I have seen comments before denying any rapture and done so in such a way that some are calling God's followers anti-Christian, heretical or other names. Is that normal for God's followers to call other God's followers names for simply believing God's word in 1 Thessalonians 4:17?
Some seem to have unusually negative emotional responses to the word "rapture" but the Bible clearly uses the words "caught up." So, those with animosity toward a particular word can just use whatever word or phrase to describe that event that they are comfortable with, but either way its the same event that 1 Thessalonians 4:17 describes. This verse is God's word and is true. Because God's Word says "Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:" then that is true. Anything else people claim against God's Word by definition would then be false.
Even if someone in discussion were to write in a pre-tribulation thread a comment like, "I don't believe in a rapture, only the 2nd coming but God bless." To me, that's still normal didcussion. I can be offended because others don't believe like me but what we saw this weekend (and are still going to see) in the main Bible discussion tab are/were comments to the effect of: "the rapture/grace by faith/once saved always saved are all lies by the modern church." I'm not sure who the fellow is posting it but he's got a divide on this site with a fellow member who also posts frequently.
We need to stop this quarreling and bring all topics back to the Bible with humilty, sound doctrine, brotherly love and fellowship. Many are posting as if this were Facebook. Do they not realize the comments here are read by the unsaved and newly saved looking for truth? By creating divisions or divisive topics; what's that saying to all the visitors to this site seeking guidance, prayer, healing and an example?
There are plenty of sites to spread religion, discord and have theological arguments...but this isn't one of them.
I'm not following the nature of your question. I believe in the Bible which includes 1 Thess 4:17 which shouldn't be a controversial statement among Bible believers. That verse says what it says, leaves very little room for misinterpretation, and I believe what the Bible says over what man says.
Aaahahaha well done smiley face , I see what you did there , I asked a very straight forward question and instead of giving me a straight answer you asked me a question smiley face , thank you for making me laugh . It's nice to find a good sense of humour on here .
You might have it backwards. The topic is 1 Thessalonians 4:17. You replied to this and asked an off topic question with unclear motives. My response stayed on topic and I asked you if you believed 1 Thessalonians 4:17? You dodged the question and acted like it was funny to you. Maybe your comment was intended to be condescending- that is between you and God. God bless.
Sorry Adam ,my question was ,if someone believes in the rapture and also that we go to heaven , why do they believe that ? I am sorry , I thought my question was clear but obviously it wasn't clear enough , I'm sorry about that . I didn't expect any one to answer it and you don't have to now , I was just curious to know that's all , I have refrained from asking it previously as some people are either unwilling or unable to explain their beliefs or they take questions as attacks and respond aggressively . I seem to be right about that so I shan't ask anyone anything about their beliefs ever again . I'm sorry if I offended or upset you but I assure you my question was genuine . I don't expect a reply from you and as I said , I shan't ask any more questions again .
I'll leave this here: Link

I appreciate new visitors to the 3 rooms:
Questions, Discussions, or Christian Life.
You are more than welcome to post your comments. Someone will get back to you as quick as possible. Some minister at night, others during the days.
It's quite possible you may get more than 5 responders to your questions or discussions.
I generally add in scriptures from the Bible when I'm making a point. It helps. This website doesn't allow rudeness; which most of us abide by.
If no one said it, welcome to the Bible Comment website.
