God does NOT CARE what ANY mere man says Amy; and I write this with love; not condemnation.
When we die; we will not stand before Trump or any man. While we are alive; we answer to God; and take directions from God.
I shared numerous Scriptures with you Amy; and I feel to say, "IT. IS. WRITTEN...."
God's Word stands far above ANY words that man says. There should be no need for further explanations about why thinking Trump is 'something', God's Word is enough; so I won't give you any 'arguments' or 'discussions' from my flesh; they will avail you nor I nor anyone else anything good; only The unerring Word of God will help.
I will share with you a few Christian sites I found that I think might help you to overcome the last-days deception that so MANY of us...INCLUDING MYSELF...were embroiled in concerning Trump. We MUST be on our HIGHEST GUARD now; more than EVER BEFORE Amy; because we ARE in the last days; and "Be sober-minded; watch. Your adversary the devil prowls about as a roaring lion seeking whom to devour". 1 Peter 5:8.
If deception APPEARED AS deception Amy; NO ONE would be ABLE to be deceived. But deception is like a vapor, it wafts under our noses and we take it in without realizing we've inhaled poison.
Here's one more Scripture for you Amy: Isaiah 42:8 ESV / I am the Lord; that is my name; my glory I give to no other, nor my praise to carved idols.

The other thing you pointed out is how people take Trump's word (or any mere human's opinion) over the very Word of God!
If Trump were ANOINTED (the HOLY SPIRIT being the one Who gives us that anointing) -- would the Holy Spirit lead the sheep of Jesus into this wicked system?
I am a senior citizen; over time, I have seen several Christians get involved in politics, and sadly - they can do LITTLE - and 9 times out of 10, get pulled into the system, rather than changing it. It's the old 'putting the hot soup in the refrigerator does not warm up the fridge, but cools the soup' scenario!
I love something I learned from a preacher years ago. He shared how he votes in his prayer closet. You see, Cindy, we live in an ILLUSION that we have a 2-party, or multi-party system. 'They' make us feel like we have a 'choice'; but like another pastor I heard said how he doesn't vote left wing or right wing, because they are the two wings on one dirty bird!! THIS is why nothing ever changes because of world government!
If we REALLY want change, godly change, we must pray that the church repent; we must pray for repentance to be granted to our nation; we must turn to God with all of our hearts, and seek His face and not His hand. We must stop giving Him lip-service and give Him heart service. Only God Almighty can bless us and save us. Psalm 33:
16 There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
17 An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.
18 Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;
19 To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
20 Our soul waiteth for the Lord: he is our help and our shield.
21 For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.

Jesus is so wonderful! When we've been in the 'lion's mouth', the Lord not only graciously delivers US - but he then gives us discernment and understanding by our troubles to be able to recognize when the same 'lion' is about to...or already has...grabbed onto another sheep - and we can warn them! It is thank-worthy to have brethren who ARE our 'keepers', and you have shown you are one of these by your comments to Amy.
Be encouraged, your response was kind, caring, and full of the Word of God, and hardly anything to be 'ashamed' about! God forbid when we have to take shame for sharing God's Word, and sharing what our own experiences have been, in an effort to encourage others by lessons learned.
I must add something I've shared on this site some time ago. Matthew Henry made comments on the book of Daniel that taught me so much. He noted how Nebuchadnezzar had a dream; he saw the world and its nations, its kingdoms, as a comely statue, an idol - which he was very pleased with. On the other hand, Daniel was given a corresponding dream in which he saw the TRUE character of nations; he saw them depicted as BEASTS!!! The kingdoms of this world are all part of the beast system. We need only to look in our own capitol, and look at other nations, and look through history to see this truth!!! The kingdom of this world IS NOT our kingdom! We cannot expect peace and friendship from it!
Furthermore, the apostles lived inn the time of the Roman emperors; they never worked to 'elect a better Ceasar' so that 'they could have a nice life now". They could separate Christ's verses the world's kingdoms!
I have lived outside of America for 24 years; I have seen first hand the disaster of State Churches. And it IS a disaster. No man can serve 2 masters!
Because in looking at just this thread, if you don't know already her then what you've said seems inappropriate and unkind.

Hello. I appreciate your desire for 'Godly' men and women to be put into positions of power; but I want to encourage you in something. God says this in His Word about looking to 'flesh' to help us--"This is what the LORD says: "Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind, who makes the flesh his strength and turns his heart from the LORD." ( Jeremiah 17:5).
When we get desperate, we will do 'anything' to find relief or help; it's human nature. Most if not all of us do that.
But it's dangerous. God also says in His Word, "Give us aid against the enemy, for the help of man is worthless." Psalm 108:12.
WORTHLESS is the help of man. One more Scripture: "A song of ascents. Of Solomon. Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain; unless the LORD protects the city, its watchmen stand guard in vain." Psalm 127:1.
Unless we look to GOD ALONE; then NOTHING we do will prosper; NOTHING will help.
And politics/politicians can never help; it's a corrupt system which corrupts even those who truly want to do good.
One more Scripture: "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and turn away from evil.
This will bring healing to your body and refreshment to your bones." Proverbs 3:5-8.
I feel for you; we are all struggling with all of the evil we see surrounding us. But Christ and He alone is our source for all things. Yes, God DOES use people; that's true; but we can't count of people to dig us out of trouble. Only repentance for our sins; turning to Christ; preaching The Gospel, only THOSE things will bring any good. "Bad" proliferates when Christians don't live and preach The Gospel; and live according to His Word and His will; otherwise; the wall of protection God has around us comes down and we are open to attacks.
