First thing I can say that a true pastor should Not be Hired as it states in John 10:12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. A true Man of God is called of God and not hired John 10:13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. I pray God sends you A true pastor

When I was young, it was open knowledge that Catholic Priests could drink beer in moderation.

The Bible does not outlaw drinking. It does, concerning being drunk and out of control.

It is wise of you to not spread gossip. You can meet with the Pastor and his wife, or

You can seek another Church: Baptist, Assembly of God or Non-Denominational. If you are being taught the BIBLE and and learning who God is all about, you're in a good place.

People like me had a radical salvation experience. One day an alcoholic, opioid abuser, astrology chart maker,

NEXT DAY, saved, forgiven, delivered from everything, sitting in my right mind, sober and desperately wanting to follow Jesus, forever. I literally burned up my past. Acts 19:19. It's been 36 wonderful years. My former friends saw me live sober for years. That's my testimony.

You will know when you are in the right church. Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you to it.

They have absolutely no business behind a pulpit and the congregation needs to speak up. If your member has deacons or elders -- it's best they consider the scripture below from the Apostle Paul's 1st letter to Timothy (written whilst Paul was in prison one of the first times)...

    1 Timothy 3: 2-10

"A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?) Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil. Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre; Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless."

A bishop would be the same as the role of a pastor today. Look at these key words or parts: "Blameless" "Not given to wine (this can refer to any alcohol)" "not greedy of filthy lucre" and the majority more.

I hope this helps! God bless!
