Is wearing of wedding rings based on God's word

As mentioned above. It's never clearly stated anything about wedding bands in the Bible such as rings. Does that mean Christian marriages should throw their wedding rings away? No. There's nothing offensive to God in having wedding rings. When I was a younger man I worked for a factory owned by apostolic Christians (A.C.s). They forbid wearing wedding rings as they claimed it was "materialism." However, they'd roll into work in a brand new Mercedes Benz wearing Armani suits.

I think where these small things begin to affect one's walk -- someone could be trying to manipulate or propogate legalism. We ought to be Holy but I know some who would go as far as to say "don't read the King James Bible online" because the internet is full of evil. If we allowed the modern Pharisees to be in today -- there'd be a law for everything. That's why there's this big debate against simple Salvation on this site. Legalist don't believe that Salvation is Faith by Grace. They'll tell you, "Nope, but you need to do this, this and this. Or this verse means we're not complete." As I've stated before, stay far from these people.

Your best preacher is Christ Jesus and your best theologian is simply having a Bible and reading it daily to understand. The moment any person's mouth opens to preach nowadays...we're getting some type of doctrine contrary to the Word of God. The minority of preachers I've met in my life have preached sound doctrine.

    Dear Clotilda

I don't think there is a problem to follow traditions as long as there sre not sinful.

No, not clearly described, but Genesis 24, seems to establish a tradition.

However these showed dedication to GOD of their treasure : Exodus 35:22, Numbers 31:50,

The reference I see as a gift to bride to be, I've found in Genesis 24:22,27, but also restoration gifts in Job 42:11,

Wedding rings for fingers were not mentioned that I've found.

    Hopefully this is helpful
