Did Jesus say you can't go to heaven unless you ask for forgiven

First read 1Co. 7:9-11. Asking for forgiveness means nothing. As a child I often begged my parents to forgive me just to avoid my consequences in a moment where I was caught in my sins. I wanted to avoid my consequences. I didn't want to obey. There was no change of heart. There was no desire to figure out and do their will. I just didn't want to be published for my willful disobedience.

This is the sorrow of the world. This is the world begging for forgiveness with no intention at all of changing their course. If you confess with your mouth Jesus Lord... You shall be saved. If you make a 100% true statement that Jesus is your Lord, God, Savior, the one who's will you habitually seek to figure out for and by yourself so you can ivey absolutely all He truly said and meant, you shall be saved. Confessing a lie saves no one.

Back to 2 Co. 7:9-11. If you are truly sorry, The sorry that is true repentance, I.e. with the true intention of dedicating your life to figuring put and obeying the will of God as a habit and way of life from that moment forward, you won't just "ask for forgiveness", everyone will see it. You will have a new life, a new purpose, a new focus for every area of your life.

You will with great earnestness desire to clear yourself, your behaviors, your responses, of absolutely everything your Lord God and Savior doesn't like while seeking in all ways to figure out and do His will. Why? He who is forgiven much loves much. If you love Me you will do my commandments.

If you understand and believe the depths of your own sin fullness, the size of the debt you owe, and that while you were Gods enemy and we're hostile to Him He died to save you, to free you, because He loved you that much, then, being forgiven that much will result in great live. That great love will result in complete dedication to figuring out and doing His will.

Asking for forgiveness means nothing. Understanding the severity of your sins, believing He died in your place...

    Kenneth,

Jesus did not say it in those exact words, but it is true that a person must repent and ask for forgiveness in order to be saved. Romans 10:13 says, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." That's a promise! If a person with a repentant heart genuinely calls out to Him and cries out to Him for mercy and to save them, He will do it. Jesus said in John 3:3 that "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." The word "again" in the Greek text is literally the word above. It is not PALIN, which is the word for again. It is the word ANOTHEN, which means "from above." What Jesus is saying is that if a person is not born from above (A Spiritual birth), he is not able to see the Kingdom of God.

Paul says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that you become a new creation when God's Spirit comes into your spirit. You become a new person. So a person must be born of God's Spirit in order to enter into heaven. In fact, Romans 8:9 tells us that if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His. The connection here is that a person must belong to Christ in order to enter into heaven, and the evidence that a person belongs to Christ is that they have His Spirit living in them. A person belongs to Christ if they have His Spirit literally dwelling in them (Permanently). I enter into heaven not because of who I am, or what I've done. I enter in because one day when I stand before God, He will see His Son in me.

    God Bless!!!
