How many times is the word family mentioned in the old testament? Not families just family. I know it's only mentioned one time in the New Testament in Ephesians 3:15.

    Thank you in advance.

First understand that there are a number of Hebrew words translated as "family". Strong's Hebrew H4940 is used 75 verses a total of 122 times. In the NASB there are 88 verses using the translated word " family".

Yes, but I was hoping for a number count. Not a verse by verse look up.

    Thank you.

There are 76 scriptures in the Bible with the word family in it.

Only 1 is in the New Testament

If you put some questions in the Search Box which is neat the top of the red entrance page.

I count 5. Like 2:4 "family of David", Acts 7:14, joseph's family, Acts 13:26, Abrahams family, Eph. 3:15 family in heaven, and 1Ti. 5:4 " in regard to their own family"

There are 76 scriptures that came up with that word in it; each scripture says that word multiple times within the one scripture.

Try out that Search Box on the page you drop into enemy you enter the site. Use the top box all the way at the top of the page. Type in family. Enter.

Searching on a word is awesome sometimes.

Tells me that my Father in heaven knows all families and everything about us. Amen!
