    GiGi,

I've been thinking about you lately. Wanted to check in and see how you're doing.
  • GiGi - In Reply - 2 years ago
Thank you for thinking of me, Abigail.

I am doing well. Just been very busy. I hope you are doing well, too.
  • Abigail - In Reply - 2 years ago
I am doing well. My kiddos keep me busy Please let me know if there is anything I can pray for you for.
  • GiGi - In Reply - 2 years ago
    Thank you Abigail.

Let me know how I can pray for you as well.

    How old are your kiddos?
  • Abigail - In Reply - 2 years ago
    I definitely will!

I have seven kids. David, Ellie, Kristen, Ruth, Joseph, Noah, Melissa, and am expecting another, whom we've named Moses, next week. David is 11, Ellie is 10, Kristen is 9, Ruth is 7, Joseph is 5, Noah is 3, and Melissa just turned 2. Actually, I do have a prayer request and will post this on the prayer request side too. If you could pray that my labor and delivery for Moses will go as planned and go well, that would be very much appreciated. I've been having a few minor contractions here and there, but nothing major. He's scheduled to be born on July 21, but he may come sooner than that. I'm planning on having a natural birth. I've had natural birth's for all of my kids, except when I had Kathryn (who died prematurely in February 2010) because of early birth. If you want to hear how my labor and delivery went, you'll need to find the username CreatingProjects2 on Ravelry and privately message her on that. I haven't had time to get on any social media yet, so my husband's sister is like the social poster for the family. If you aren't on Ravelry, I would suggest to get on it to find out how it went.

In case you're curious, Ravelry is a platform that all crocheters, knitters, spinners, ect can use to keep track of their projects, so on and so forth. People still get on it even if they don't crochet, knit, spin, ect, so even if you don't do any of that, you can still get on it. If you do get on Ravelry, let me know what your username is so that my husband's sister can find you, friend you, and privately message you letting you know how it went. I know, I'm picky, but I've always been this way, even when all my other kids were born.

    Have a blessed night!

Abigail. Well, you are very blessed to have 8 children to love and care for. I have 9 siblings.

I will pray for you labor and delivery. I have just three sons. Each baby was threatened with complications at the end of pregnancy, during the birth, or after the baby was born. Sadly, after months of prayer, we stopped at three since there was no medical "fix" for the problems I experienced.

Our baby is officially here. Moses Levi made his grand entrance into the world this morning at 5:23 a.m. Labor and delivery went just as planned, just earlier than expected and labor was my hardest yet. Baby and I are doing great. The kiddos will be Skyping with us to see him this afternoon and then will see him on Wednesday when we go home. We are now parents of 8. Thank You, Lord, for the gift of children. Life would be boring without them. Let me know if you are interested on hearing how it all went.

    Oh, Abigail,

So happy for you! Welcome Moses Levi. God bless you and grow you up to be a wonderful believing man of God.

I do hope you get some help at home and are able to get needed rest with baby. I remember helping when my Mom came home from the hospital after having my youngest sibs. Many of us were old enough to help out substantially.

    How early was Baby Moses?
  • Abigail - In Reply - 2 years ago
Moses was born 4 days early. He is doing incredibly well. He had a small breathing issue when he was born, but that is fading away now. My husband said I went through labor and delivery well. I had a natural birth and had to push 14 times before he came! The labor was very hard (for the pain side). Delivery was awesome too. We have a great hospital/midwife team who were awesome in every step. My midwife coached me through contractions and pushing. It was my best birth so far.

    Wonderful Abigail,

With my third, I had the hardest and most painful contractions but the shortest labor with just 15 minutes of pushing compared to 45 minutes with my 2nd and 2 1/2 hours and then a c=section with my 1st.

I started having major contractions that led into labor on the 15 and labored all night long before while at the hospital I said, "I gotta push!" I started pushing, it was so painful that I cried. I kept pushing 12 times more before I said I couldn't push and had to have a break. My midwife said, "just one more push! Just one more! Push!" I pushed, and our baby boy was born. He is now 6 days old and doing incredibly well. He is a very deep and sound sleeper, so that makes it even easier on my side. He loves to eat (I'm breastfeeding him) and is just such a cutie. The day he came home, to celebrate, the kids thought it would be fun to watch Sight & Sound's Moses, so we did just that that night. Moses slept all the way through the movie, but, that's ok because we'll let him watch it once he's older and sleeping is just what babies do, right? :)

I'm not one to ask this kind of question, but my sister-in-law wants to know what you decided with the Ravelry suggestion.
  • GiGi - In Reply - 2 years ago
    Hi Abigail,

So glad you and baby are doing well.

I am not sure what you mean by the Ravelry suggestion. Please explain more.
  • Abigail - In Reply - 2 years ago
I messaged my sister-in-law asking her to explain what Ravelry is for you, since, I have absolutely no idea how to use Ravelry.

"Ravelry is a social platform that is free to all knitters and crocheters. You can find pattern ideas (such as ideas for patterns without the actual pattern and patters with it's how to make it pattern), friend people, join groups, (there are so many options to chose from) save patterns to go back and look at, and so much more. You can share your own patterns too. Lots of people who are on Ravelry don't necessarily knit or crochet (or both,) but they might join to find a group to join, or make friends, or save patterns they like the look of, ect. So you don't have to knit or crochet in order to be on Ravelry. If you would like more information on Ravelry, you can create an account and then go to Ravelry's help page or contact one of the moderators. Accounts are deletable, so if you don't like it, you can always delete it."

    Does that explain your wonder?

    Abigail,

Yes, it does help me know more about Ravelry. I don't think that it is for me at this time. But thanks.
  • Abigail - In Reply - 2 years ago
You're welcome. Is there any other social platform my sister-in-law can find you under?
  • GiGi again - In Reply - 2 years ago
This is the only one I participate in, so you can direct her here if she is willing.
