when israel is in the promised land there is supposed to be peace on earth. Why is there no peace?

I'm no expert, but am a follower of Christ. I tend to see things through simplicity or common sense of scripture, of just what limited knowledge I have.

I believe God's peace waxes/wanes and ebbs/flows based on His timeline, will, and the obedience of man; especially his chosen people. Like in Ecc. when there's a time for peace and a time for war.

Plus, the world once was at total peace, now we're not (fallen angel, Adam/Eve)

The world one day with be with zero peace --tribulation.

Then once again, all will be fixed by Jesus, and we will be back at total peace.

We are peace when Godly men reign; overall we are currently under the burden of a fallen world.

And this: Proverbs 29:2 (KJV) When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

Last I checked. God is out, sin overrunith, most don't want to live in peace, leaders aren't righteous, world in disarray, satan does have dominion over current world, and Jews waiting for first coming of Jesus. However, we still are the light.

They didn't follow Gods way and we're disobedient. The only peace that was on earth was during the time that Jesus was here. The war gates of Rome were shut or opened, (which ever way it was to be done when there was no war happening). When Jesus left this world and went to Heaven, now the peace is gone until He returns and reigns here on earth.

Hi David , I believe that this prophecy is yet to be fulfilled , and that it's not just talking about physical Jews but all Israel , including us as the bride of Christ , spiritual Israel , and that this prophecy will be fulfilled when Christ returns and rules over the earth from New Jerusalem . We will be part of that , how fab !

Hi David. I'm unsure which era of Israel's existence you're thinking of. If you could provide us a Scripture, or even events surrounding this time of peace, then that would be helpful.

I know of a future time of world peace, and the one that I thought of when reading your question, is in Deuteronomy 12:1-12 (a promise given of old). Here in verse 10 we read, "But when ye go over Jordan, and dwell in the land which the LORD your God giveth you to inherit, and when he giveth you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye dwell in safety." This was at the time when Israel was promised the Land of Canaan, & after their enemies were defeated, they would find rest, peace & safety. Yet, that was short-lived, as Israel disobeyed the Lord & lusted after the wickedness of the nations around them. Their peace was sporadic - Israel has never enjoyed that promised peace. They even rejected their Messiah, ensuring that turmoil, both nationally & spiritually, would always be their lot.
