John 20.29 This particular verse reaffirms the belief that Blessed are those who believe in an unseen God.

Lord does not mean God. If Thomas said that to Jesus in the previous verse, it should be taken in metaphorical sense and not actual. I cannot accept Jesus as Son of God nor God for the following reason .1. Matthew 24:36

No one knows about that day or hour, not even the Son, but the Father only.

Here Jesus makes a distinction between what he knows and what the Father knows.

    2. Matthew 26:39

My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me, yet not as I will, but as Thou will.

Jesus' will is likewise autonomous from God's Will. Jesus is seeking acquiescence to God's will.

    3. John 5:26

For as the Father has life in Himself, so he has granted the Son to have life in himself.

Jesus received his life from God. God received his life from no one. He is eternally self-existent.

    4. John 5:30

By myself, I can do nothing: I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who has sent me.

Jesus says, "by myself, I can do nothing." This indicates that Jesus is relying upon his own relationship with God. He is not trying to "please myself" but rather is seeking to "please the one who sent me."

    5. John 5:19

The Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees the Father doing, because whatever the Father does, the Son does also.

Jesus declares that he is following a pattern laid down by God. He is expressing obedience to God.

    7. John 14:28

The Father is greater than I.

This is another strong statement that makes a distinction between Jesus and God.

    8. Matthew 6:9

Our Father, which art in Heaven.

He didn't pray, Our Father, which art standing right here!"

    9. Matthew 27:46

My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Inconceivable if he is God the Creator.

Space does not permit to write more.

Naseem gbu but you do greatly err... John 5 :23 ....Jesus said that all men should honor the SON even as they honor the Father he that honoreth not the SON honoreth not the Father that has sent him.

.....When he bringeth the 1 st begotton into the world God instructs all angels to worhip him...God himself wd be braking the 1st commandment if he instructed all the angels to worship his son if he were not God the son.... Hebrews 1 : 6

......But unto the SON he says Thy THRONE O GOD IS FOREVER AND EVER.. Hebrews 1 : 8....A sceptre of righteousness is the Sceptre of THY KINGDOM...Unto the SON he says

.......Naseem but the way we know without a doubt that Jesus IS truly God is b/c of his seed the WORD....He says to whom the WORD CAME ( HIS SEED ) IT MADE THEM GODS and the scripture cannot be broken....Don'cha see that he is able to propagate, reproduce after the God kind... Matthew 13 :37 KJV ...Jesus said he that soweth the GOOD SEED is the Son of man.

.....And also John 17 : 5 ....Jesus prayed Father Glorify thou me with thine own self.....EVEN WITH THE GLORY I HAD WITH YOU B/F THE WORLD WAS....He was spirit b/f he was flesh....He only took on flesh and blood to die for the sins of the world humanity.....Thats y he said b/f Abraham was i am.....He always existed and was with God as the living WORD.... John 1

.....Naseem when he breathe on them he was propagating very God with his breath which was his words his seeds....Remember what God said everything has to multiply after its KIND...According to his seed...The Child that they birth was the H.G. THAT Child of PROMISE....Emanuel....His seed is the very seed of God....Spirits can be born in us by his seed ...Thats y he is saying to whom the word came it made them Gods....And that which is born of the spirit is spirit as God is spirit.

John 20 Sir just a few scripture on subject matter, Jesus christ stated I can do nothing without my father, also when casting

out devils or when he dealt with satan he was never called God but what have we to do with thee thou Son of the most high

God. also many times after healing people they said praising God for giving such power to men. Also other points only God knows when Christ will return and when the apostles ask for a seat in heaven jesus christ said it is not for me to give. Also when he

ask peter who do people say that I am peter said thou are the Christ the son of God then jesus christ said my father has shown you this. i don't argue this subject matter and not expecting and don't want a response. Just sharing scripture. Last but not least

in Luke 1:31-34 twice the announcment is Son of the Highest gabriel speaking.

Hello, John chapter 1 explains and answers all these questions:

John 1:14-15 reveals that Jesus is called the "Word."

John 1:1 says "Word was with God, and the Word was God." this means that Jesus was with God, and Jesus was God.

John 1:3 says "All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." This means that all things were made by Jesus, and without Jesus nothing was made.

The common misunderstanding is that Jesus temporarily came to earth and while fully God, became fully man and appeared to allow Himself to be limited as a man. So, most people analyze His behavior as a temporary man and draw assumptions from it: like how can He pray to Himself? etc.

John 1:9-10 - talks about Jesus, also called the "Light" coming to earth.

Philippians 2:6-7 - to me this means that Jesus wasn't concerned about His power being lessor or limited as a temporary man.

Luke 2:52 - Jesus put Himself in a position of a man to grow in wisdom and maturity.

So, all of your quotes are while Jesus was in a temporary limited state as a man on earth.

You wrote: "Inconceivable if he is God the Creator." It's not inconceivable because the Bible literally says Jesus created everything in John 1:3.

If this isn't convincing enough there are more verses saying the same thing:

    Colossians 1:15-17

    Hebrews 1:2

    1 Corinthians 8:6

    Jesus literally created you!

    Hello Naseem,

Scripture tells us the unclean spirits/devils knew He was the Son of God, Matt. 8:29 Mark 3:11 Luke 8:27-28. Scripture tells us Jesus is the Son of God the only begotten of the Father, John 1:14. Scripture tells us Jesus the Son of God was before this world John 17:5 2 Timothy 1:9. Scripture tells us Jesus the Son of God was the beginning of creation Rev. 3:1. Scripture tells us everything was created through Him Col. 1:16.

Scripture tells us to confess Jesus is the Son of God, 1 John 4:15. Scripture tells us God gave His only begotten Son, John 3:16. Scripture tells us to believe God gave His only begotten Son, 1 John 5:10. Scripture tells us God was made known in the flesh through His only begotten Son same as creation was through His Son 1 Timothy 3:16 Col. 1:16.

Scripture tells us we have salvation and eternal life only in Jesus Christ, John 3:36 Acts 4:12 Eph. 4:12 1 Thess. 5:9 1 John 5:13 Scripture tells us we can only come to the Father through Jesus, John 14:6 1 Timothy 2:5.

Jesus came to fulfill the law and the prophets and died for our sins, and the only way that could be done is in the flesh, the seed of Abraham, Hebrews 2. He experienced temptation the same as you and me, Luke 4:2 Heb 2:18, He had a brain and a will, Luke 22:42 but He was obedient to the Father. We now have a high priest in heaven that lived in this flesh just like us, Hebrews 4:14-16.

Salvation and eternal life only by the grace of God through faith which is in Christ Jesus. Jesus Christ's perfect life in the flesh, His blood shed for us, and His resurrection. We cannot deny the divinity of Jesus, the only begotten Son of God that was before this world, but no creed, doctrine, or statement of faith can be placed above or added to that we must believe to receive salvation and eternal life if scripture does not tell us we must believe. Truth is in the simplicity that is in Christ.

I love this site and the brothers and sisters on it.

    God bless,

    RLW

Hi Naseem , I believe that Jesus was filled with God's Holy Spirit without measure , to me , this does not make Jesus God but it does make him a vessel of God's Holy Spirit more than any other person who has had the Spirit of God in them , lots of people have had a measure of God's Holy Spirit , we read this all through the Bible , Jesus was filled to the brim , no one else was . Therefore Jesus is the embodiment , as much as any human could ever be , of God . To me , the Holy Spirit is The Spirit of God , it is His , it is awesome and pure , very different from our human nature . I hope I have explained myself ok . I know that lots of people on here are going to give you a very different answer , my advice ? Read , then re read then re read again , the whole Bible and make your own mind up . Good hunting .

    So, Suze

You seem to be telling us that you deny the divinity of Jesus. Do you worship Jesus? If so, why, if He is not God. If not, then why did He accept worship?
  • Suze - In Reply on John 20 - 2 years ago
I do not worship Jesus , I worship God , please point out where Jesus accepted worship . Jesus is now definately devine as he has been transfigured . I do not intend to get into a big debate about this with you or anyone else , please don't be offended , and please tell me where Jesus accepted worship , thank you .
  • GiGi again - In Reply on John 20 - 2 years ago
Suze, I think Adam has done a good job of where in Scripture Jesus accepts worship.

I do not believe that any created being can "become" god. Jesus, the Son of God is the Creator of all, nothing was created that He did not create. He was not created. This is classic Christian doctrine. But I can see that you do not hold to this belief. I rspect that you do not want to discuss this further with me. So be it.
  • Suze - In Reply on John 20 - 2 years ago
Thank you Gigi , I also respect your beliefs .
  • Adam - In Reply on John 20 - 2 years ago
Hi Suze, John 1:1 tells us that Jesus is God and other verses say He created all things.

    Verses of Jesus accepting worship:

    John 20:28

    Matthew 28:8-9

    Mark 16:1

    Matthew 2:11

    Matthew 21:9

    John 12:13

We are also to obey Jesus:

    John 8:31

    John 14:15

    John 14:21-24

    John 15:10-14

    1 John 2:3

Thank you Adam for these verses.
  • Suze - In Reply on John 20 - 2 years ago
Thank you Adam , I have no problem obeying Jesus , he is my Redeemer and the Son of God , he spoke the words that God gave him to speak and God has given him all power and authority .
  • The Godhead Scriptures - In Reply on John 20 - 2 years ago
The Scriptures about the Godhead. Sometimes called "Let Us..." in some passages. These scriptures are evidence of all 3 persons of the Godhead speaking to each other.

    Genesis 1:26, 3:22, 11:7

    Isaiah 6:8

    Romans 1:20*

    Colossians 2:9

    Acts 17:27-30

    1 John 5:7

    John 10:30

"For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and GODHEAD so that they are without excuse:"

    Genesis 1:1

    The Father purposes

The Word (Jesus) speaks. ( John 1:1)

The Spirit (Holy Spirit) executes the spoken word. Action.

All working together. Jesus came to show us the Father, as Emmanuel.

    Matthew 1:23

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God WITH US. [Jesus]

{Comment} Jesus came to bring to each born again believer; the baptism and the in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit.

    [ Genesis 1:2, John 3:6, Acts 2:1-3, John 16: 7-15]

Upon being born again, Jesus gives the Holy Spirit to teach us scripture, comfort us, convict us of sin, enable us to be witnesses. Stay in the New Testament at first.

    Naseem,

May these verses help to shine some light for you to understand that Jesus is in fact God.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

John 10:30 I and my Father are one.

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

John 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

Here Jesus is speaking to the Apostle John in Revelation 22:13

"I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last."

There are three (3) entities in the Godhead. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Many people struggle with trying to understand this unique and very special relationship.

    GB you
