If my pastor's former wife left him for another man many years ago is he qualified to be my pastor? I love him and his family and have grown so much in The Spirit under his preaching and our church is doing really well. I believe he is truly anointed but there are some that say he is not qualified to be my pastor because of his past. What am I supposed to believe?
From what you've shared about this matter, and providing your Pastor is now single & intends to maintain that position, I see no reason why he can't continue to minister to God's people. For obvious reasons, such as, having a 'balanced' witness to people, an effective ministry to the whole Church, being single-eyed to his wife & companion/not being distracted, etc., I feel that it is the preferable position for a pastor to be married. But from a biblical understanding, I don't see any specific reason that he should step down. He may though, at some future time, feel that holding such a responsible position on his own, has become untenable.
