suppose someone today went into a mega church and stated that unless damnable heresies stopped; leadership and congregants alike would come to an early demise. One could argue from the example of Ananias and Sapphira that this would be an exhortation of love to the believing remnant to resist such falsehood or get out before it is too late. This is just a hypothetical example; but if we don't understand the principle involved in God's prophetic utterances then it seems like a disjointed message that often can result in a "self fulfilling prophecy" if Satan is in the background pulling the strings. Something as simple as the warning to the Laudician church should be enough of an appeal to wake people up from their slumber. If we love God then we fear Him and keep His commandments. We understand that all things have consequences; whether promotion or demotion; God gives and takes away ( Job 1:21). Judgments prophesied come because of repeated disobedience with clear warnings for a long time. As the Word says nothing comes to pass without a warning from the Prophets ( Amos 3:7). With so MANY voices; including false prophets; we need to heed to the Word any messages that either contradict scripture or have an evil spirit behind them. Without discernment many churches are totally lost; because almost no one wants to hear or can HANDLE the truth.
With the unpleasant messages true prophets usually bring; they likely wouldn't want it broadcast (especially if a rebuke of a church is part of the message). This is much the same with other miracles; someone truly delivered from a demon should only be on video if there is sufficient backup or witnesses to the validity of their testimony; and there can be evidence they are truly delivered from the fruits in their lives. Discipleship in general seems to be unpopular today with such sideshows. A true statement is a warning to the lost of their sure fate without repentance.
