And, the tribes of the Israelite kingdom (northern) that was taken captive to Assyria were scattered across the world as they migrated out of Assyria to other regions. Some returned to the promised land in Palestine, but most migrated. Many lost their sense of identity as Israelites as the generations passed and they continued to migrate further and further from the land of Israel.
