    I have tried to find the scripture which is a single verse where Jesus makes a statement that asserts and authenticates the entire Old Testament they all used was correct in every respect. My belief this scripture is in Matthew or Luke. Any help in finding the scripture that Jesus validated the complete Old Testament the Levites, High Priest, Priesthood, Sadducees, and Pharisees had used and relied on was what had been given and protected.

    Thank You,

    It's when Jesus read from the scroll of Isaiah 61:1,(2) in the Church, as mentioned in Luke 4:17-(19)-21

    Much significance when Jesus read the scroll.

    Thanks George,

    That is a very good verse to show that Jesus confirmed the veracity of all of the O.T.

    He also quoted David in the book of Psalms, one of seven things Jesus said on the cross, which was written 1000 yrs before His death.

    Matt. 27:46, "ELI, ELI, LAMA SABACHTHANI?" that is, "MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?"

    A Psalm concerning David's Son and David's Lord.

    Psalms 22 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

    Why art Thou so far from helping me, and from the words

    of my lamentation ?

    The best evidence that I have found in over 40 years of study is in Luke 24:25-27. It says that beginning with Moses ( Genesis 1:1) and all the prophets through Malachi, Jesus expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning Himself. If the Old Testament was good enough for Jesus to use after His resurrection, don't you think it is good enough for us???

    Final Word Jesus authenticates entire 39 books of the Old Testament Luke 11 50 to 51 Ryrie Study Bible .docx

    Jesus authenticate the entire Thirty-Nine books of the Old Testament the Israel Religious Hierarchy used and believed was the Holy Scriptures. (This included the Levites, the Priesthood, the Scribes, the Sanhedrin, Caiphas and Ananias, the Sadducees and the Pharisees.) This is the same Old Testament used in Jesus's time. It is the same as we have today. It was compiled in its entirety during the time of Ezra about 450 B.C. In prior to this time only the elite, scholarly, and Religious Hierarchy were able to access and read scriptures. In earlier times Scrolls were used to record and preserve the texts and controlled by religious hierarchy.

    I previously posted my inquiry as what single scripture in the New Testament says jesus validated the entire Old Testament that was the accepted as the Holy Scriptures by the Israel Religious Hierarchy at the time of Jesus was teaching and ministering. The following is what I was seeking to find.

    Luke 11:50-51

    50. That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;

    51. From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation.

    The Collection of the Books of the Old Testament

    From the Dr Charles Caldwell Ryrie , Thd, Phd - Ryrie Study Bible NAS. Published by Moody Publications. Page XXVii

    Most Signiant however is the statement of Jesus ( Luke 11:51) in which He delimited the extent of the canonical books of the Old Testament when He accused the scribes of being guilty of slaying all of the prophets God had sent to Israel from the time of Able to the time of Zechariah. Able's death is recorded in Genesis; Zechariah's in II Chronicles 24:20-21, which is he last book of the Hebrew Bible rather than Malachi as our English Bible."

    Hi James.

    Maybe? Hebrews 10:5-10 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

    In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.

    Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

    Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;

    Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

    By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

    Or perhaps John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

    Dear James

    In 2 Timothy 3:16 Apostle Paul writes "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" What is the scripture that Paul talks about? I mean the books of the New Testament were not written yet, not all of them, some Paul's letters were shared between churches when Paul writes his letter to Timothy. A long time will pass by untill all the churches at that time have a complete and organised form of what we call today New Testament.The Scripture that Paul talks about in Timothy is mainly the Old Testatment.

    Thank You for your response. The one verse Jesus authenticates the entire Old Testament. If I find it I will let you know what it is.
