Does the meaning of 1 Corinthians 11:6 not allow a woman to cut her hair forever?
  • D W L - In Reply - 2 years ago
1 Corinthians 11:13 Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?

14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? --The word not an opinion

15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering. --The word not an opinion

16 But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God. --If any man wants to argue with the word let them we don't argue with the word. If some say it don't mean Hair then ???? -- It says Hair

The way to please the Lord is do as he says.

Yall, God teaches symbolically, He's using (Hair) as an example for instead of:

1 Corinthians 11:3 But I desire that you should know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the wife is the husband; and the head of Christ is God(The Head/Christ IS the covering)

Since you missed it, let me break it down for ya,,, splain it to you.

The subject, is (covering) the object is (covered with Christ) the Author is using (hair) as an example for covering, (instead of Christ) as the covering.

If it's a disgrace to a man to have (instead of Christ) covering, and the man is the head of the woman, and the Christ is the head of the man, it would make Christ the head of both man and woman,,, So Judge for yourselves if you want Christ as your head/covering or Hair!!! but let me caution you, it is (unbecoming) to pray unto God (without) Christ as your cover/UNCOVERED, It is a glory only to her, not to GOD,, so go ahead and honor yourselves with your hair as your cover instead of Christ.

The Fallen Angels will come for you!

13 Judge in yourselves: is it becoming that a woman pray unto God unveiled ? NO

15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair has been given her instead of a covering

Anna when you read 1 Corinthians 11: 1-15 the end of this context is verse 16

We have no such customs in the church of God why because that's works of the

Flesh and judging by the flesh we are to walk by the spirit and let God be the judge

    And work in people's hearts.

They did not and could not hold fast to the traditions of Jesus because they did not have them, they had GOD, But YOU do !!!
  • Luke - In Reply - 2 years ago
No, the object is to be covered with Jesus Christ for He is the Head of Man

1 Corinthians 11:1 Become ye imitators of me, even as I also am of Christ.

2 Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things(teachings of Christ), and hold fast the traditions, as I delivered them to you.

3 But I desire that you should know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the wife is the husband; and the head of Christ is God.

Keep nothing but Christ over your Head, upon the Head.

Many were not covered, and not holding fast the traditions of Jesus in the days of Noah whereby they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage unto the fallen angels Matthew 24:38
