    Are there aliens
  • GiGi - In Reply - 2 years ago
    Hi Denise,

    S. Spencer has given you a very good explanation of what the Bible is referring to when the word alien is used, being someone that is not an Israelite, from a foreign nation or tribe.

But if you are asking if there are aliens from other places in space, that is a big question that I do not think can be truly answered in the affirmative or negative, as the Bible does not speak about other physical beings from other planets. The Bible does speak of angels, devils, demons, powers, principalities, and authorities in the spiritual realm. We are warned in Scripture to not try to gain contact with such spiritual beings, as it is considered witchcraft or sorcery.

Science as of yet has not proven whether physical beings from other planets exist or not. There have been many reports of sightings of crafts and interactions with non-human beings from space, but these most likely are demonic in nature. That said, I guess we will have to wait and see of this matter. I read some good articles on Herescope site. Google "Alien Encounters" and click on the site (I believer) "discerning the truth" or something similar. it will have articles that are from Herescope on UFO's, aliens, and such that are from a solid Christian perspective. But, stay away from any site that is really into aliens, UFO's, abductions, and government cover-ups. Most of the people who post on such sites espouse New Age, occultic, humanistic, and heretical "Christian" ideas. I say, tread with caution on this topic, prayerfully, and with discerning from the Holy Spirit.

In the end, I say, what if God did create other physical intelligent beings in other places in the universe. That is really His business, not ours. God revealed Himself on earth to us, with the gospel being for humans. Jesus came as a human to save humans, not aliens from outer space. In order for His sacrifice to be sufficient and efficacious for mankind, He needed to have full human DNA, human blood, and human nature, truly.

    He stated Gigi

God is from eternity to eternity,

We have no idea! But we do know if there's any other existence whether in space, dimensions or wherever, God created it.

    S. Spencer

    continued

..humanity needs instead to face up to their depravity and their standing before God as His enemies, dead in sin, and access the the Holy Spirit brings to us in the Gospel that empowers us to repent from sin and believe what the Gospel means and Who it points us to and to Whom we are reconciled. That is really the best pursuit of humanity because any knowledge of space or even subatomic discoveries will not mean a thing in eternity in hell. But saving knowledge of God in Jesus Christ is the greatest treasure and brings to us all that God desires for us to know about Him along with the physical universe and spiritual realm for all eternity for those who believe.

I am a person who has always been drawn to science (almost had it as my minor in college, one class short). But in all of my studies of science I have always viewed it through the lens of it revealing God's creation and the wonder of Him in His power and wisdom. He has made a beautiful world for us. I think it is enough to satisfy us for what it is worth. But nothing compares to the glory and majesty and splendor of God in Christ.

    Amen Gigi!!

    That's very insightful.

And I agree, All we did was satisfy a curiosity. And every country seems to compete at who's more advanced in this area and technology ect..

    Thanks again.

    God bless.

    Yes, S. Spencer,

Jesus is the only person Who bring us the most benefit and blessings. Growing in our knowledge of Him is the best pursuit of humanity, by far.

"The heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament shows His Handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, and night unto night reveals knowledge."

    Psalm 19:1

It takes a redeemed mindset to understand that all that is created tells us about God, but it is in Jesus Christ that the revelation of the grace and mercy of God is revealed; the salvation that comes only from Him; the reconciliation so necessary for humanity to cease being His enemy; the redemption of our whole humanity that enables us to praise Him worthily; the blessed hope of His return that will bring the resurrection of our dead physical being that will reunite with our soul and spirit; the eternal communion with the Godhead we will then enjoy with our whole redeemed selves; the complete victory over sin, death, the devil, and corruption of the fallen creation.

The revelation in nature, as Paul, state is Romans 1, declared the power and other invisible attributes being understood by the things that He created, even the revelation of the Godhead. But the fallenness of humanity, though knowing God, did not glorify Him as God, now were they thankful. Instead, humanity wishes to exchange the truth of God for manmade philosophies and idolatry. Unredeemed humanity can only gain the knowledge of being under God's wrath for their sin, and so rebels even further. We have the false ideas of evolution to replace the truth about creation and the origins of mankind. We have theories about a creation without God. We have humanistic explanations about man's role in the universe and responsibility towards it. We have relativistic approach to sin, were we accept various ideas as equal in being true and open acceptance of sinful choices as being right in the eyes of the one performing these sins, so as no one can feel guilty nor should anyone judge them.

    Hello, Steven,

I grew up in the 60's and 70's with the big push to explore space. I remember the moon landing and am amazed by the pictures we receive from telescopes from crafts launched into outer space.

But with this as part of my life's experience, I just feel deep down that God gave us earth to live upon. It is where He reveals Himself and works with mankind, not outer space. I think of the billions of dollars spent on the space programs, and consider how much good we could have done on earth for those in need with these resources. I am sure that we may have some benefits from exploring space, but I don't know if what we have benefited outweighs the detriment. I guess I just don't think that God ever wanted us to bring anything from space to earth, nor for man to go into space.

I know that our inquisitiveness and intellect are good things bestowed on us from God. Yet, the fallenness of mankind has corrupted these abilities to an immense depth of depravity, as it says in Genesis 6:5-6 of unredeemed human nature: the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every intent of the thoughts of his hearts was only continually evil." ."

And in Genesis 11: 6 the LORD says that "Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do, now nothing that they propose will be withhold from them." (Meaning that whatever they can think of to do they can accomplish it.)

So, our exploration of space is really from an unredeemed standpoint. What are we trying to prove or discover, really? If man is really trying to prove the existence of God by space exploration, they won't discover that since man does not believe what God has already revealed about Himself in our history and Scripture. Are the scientists that are working on this exploration Christian believers influenced by Christian thought? If not, then their endeavors are evil, just like at Babel. I think that instead of trying to satisfy a curiosity of "what is out there"

    Hi Denise.

I don't see where there is any mention of aliens in the Bible.

However what scriptures are you referring to?

    Thanks Denise.

Let's use Ephesians 2:11-12 to get the context.

    Wherefore remember, that YE BEING IN TIME PAST ""GENTILES"" in the flesh, who are called ""UNCIRCUMCISION"" by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;

That at that time YE WERE WITHOUT CHRIST, BEING ALIENS FROM THE COMMONWEALTH OF ISRAEL, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

Here's a definition in the Greek and how it's used.

    Greek:

    Transliteration: apallotrio

    Pronunciation: ap-al-lot-ree-o'-o

Definition: From G575 and a derivative of G245; to estrange away that is (passively and figuratively) to be non participant: - alienate be alien.

    KJV Usage: be alienated with.

Hebrews 11:34 references Israel battles with those alienated from Israel. The Gentiles/Heathen.

"Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, TURNED TO FLIGHT THE ARMIES OF THE ALIENS."

    Lamentation 5:2-6.

    Here's the aliens in Lamentation.

"Vs 6 We have given the hand to the EGYPTIANS, and to the ASSYRIAN, to be satisfied with bread". They're alienated from Israel.

    I hope this helps.

    God bless.
