Was James Saved or still under the Law?
  • Henry - In Reply on James 5 - 2 years ago
    H. Pokey Nahr. Yes James was saved and he was addressing born

Again Jews still zealous for the law and not after the freedom in Christ.

As it states the law was bondage Galatians ,5:1-18. There were many

Jews born again still walking in the law and condemning gentiles this

Caused great division in the church. Paul addressed this quite often

And there's more to this I just touched on the subject.

Thank you for your speedy reply.

I have asked if James was Saved because his letter is addressed to the JEWS as stated in his opening remarks. I see nothing in the Bible that shows me with Scripture, James was saved!

Perhaps you could lead me to these Scriptures.

    Yours in Christ, Brother Poley

Certainly, man cannot be the judge of another's salvation, because we don't see or know what God sees & knows. If I might direct you to Acts 1:13 (James with the others were gathered in an upper room for prayer, etc.); Galatians 1:19 (James was an apostle); Acts 15:13-21 (James was a member of the Jerusalem Council); James 2:1 ("My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons": and this verse shows us that James had put his trust in Jesus & this epistle was to his 'brethren', the believing Jews who were scattered, living in other lands). In my understanding, James appears to have the same spiritual awakening & expression of faith in Jesus, as any of the other apostles. Do you see a problem here?

H Poleyn Bahr. In Galatians chapter two when Paul. Went up to Jerusalem to the

Church H.Q.so to speak verses 4-16 specifically verse 9 James Cephas or Peter

And John Pillar's of the church same James that your referencing. Then also 17-

21 completes Paul's point of righteous of law verses basically nullified by Christ or

    Made of none effect.

Yes H Poley....The scripture say addressed to the 12 tribes scattered abroad.....But chapter 5:14... Says is there any sick among you...Let him call on the elders of the Church....And the prayer of faith will raise him up....Makes us think that this 12 tribes scattered abroad is really the Israel of God the Church.....That Prays for the sick and afflicked....In Jesus Name....just my thoughts
