have you ever experienced the holy spirit that abides in us? If so how and when?

    Hello Fred

I always enjoy your posts. There is an element of poetry in them which I enjoy very much. But I rarely reply because you don't bring something for discussion or something to reply for like you do now.

Well something really beautiful happened to me when I was young in faith.

One day I decided to devote myself to God with fasting and praying for a sister who she was having a really bad time (financially) with a restaurant place she owned. I was very careful that day not to allow anything bad go through my eyes and through my mind . Late at night I kneeled down to pray again. I was feeling very exhausted and sleepy. But after about an hour in prayer suddenly something came inside me, I suddenly felt like Heaven came down to earth. The word happy is not adequate to describe how I was feeling, no human word could describe my joy and peace and happiness,. It was something supernatural, not human, like nothing people can feel in this world. No words for it. It was, I believe, God's Spirit that made His presence so powerful. I have many experiences with the Holly Spirit but that was really something. Another feeling that was going through me was I wanted to be in prayer all the time. Well that feeling was inside me for about a week. It was fainting away bit by bit, day by day, until it completely went away after about a week. In my mind it was revealed (I believe) by God that He made His presence so powerful to me for two reasons. Fistly that I was not seeking for my own benefit and blessing but for somebody else who was in need and I made a sacrifice for that. (not something really big, a day fasting and praying). The second was that I was very careful to keep my sanctification and not let anything go through my mind. It was a message from God about how important is for us to pray for our sisters and brothers but at the same time to keep ourselves clean from sin.

There is a lot more about experiences with the Holly Spirit but l leave it for later on.

When in my early years I served under a pastor attended a small seminary. This minister has since passed. I was blessed with his preaching. He spoke with expository of the scripture verse by verse. The holy spirit finds its way through fellowship with one another. I would spend the week with him working as a plumber and would learn from asking questions! The church we served was small .he and I worked together. On Sunday I would hear the holy spirit as it moved freely without hesitation. I cherish your reply it will give me more insight of who we are while learning from one another!, thank you for your words.

    Dear Fred,

Every Christian believer has the Holy Spirit dwelling within them. This is the promise Jesus gave the apostles at the Last Supper ( Jn. 14:15-18) I suggest reading this Scripture reference and continue reading through the whole Last Supper discourse. These verses are perhaps the most beautiful and reassuring words our Lord spoke and had recorded in His Word.

Any believer who seriously desires to live obediently to Jesus and prays for our Lord to lead them and teach them will have real experiences of the Holy Spirit's direct guidance, words, restraint from certain situations and release in others, confirmations that come from outside and independently of ourselves, bringing to mind a specific Scripture that is most appropriate for the moment, and many other ways He works in our lives.

I wonder why you ask this question, Fred, since you post often and by your words seem to know the answer to this question.

I rarely get replies to my posts. I love to hear replies such as yours. God bless you, I will read the words of the last supper. Thank you once again ,I thought if I ask questions I could learn more from others!

    Great Fred!

I am glad you answered my question, too. Yes, we do learn more when we work together in community. I read your posts and find them helpful. Thanks for your contribution.

Yes, I believe all the time.

Even recently my inner spirit has been stirring, my heart even. Today we hear the sad news of The Queen.

If any of us could have come close to being this example of a dedicated servant of the people! The queen of England was just that! Pray for England! pray for the world!

Hours before I had heard of the Queen's death I had heard a report that she needed to cancel a zoom conference meeting. I thought then, she must not have much longer to live. It wasn't long before news of her death hit the airwaves. This is an instance of the Holy Spirit revealing something to me ahead of time when I had no knowledge of this situation. I have had this knowledge ahead of time with at least 4 other people who died soon after this work of the Holy Spirit. So, I can answer your question with this example.

But, in regards to the Queen. She lived a very long life, as did her husband. They lived through so much history that changed our world. She did not do a lot of "governing" but she had her role and duties as Queen. I have thought that she represented her nation well with dignity and class. She has had heartaches along the way, especially in recent years. But she was steadfast in her service. Now her son is King. We shall see how that goes for him.

I know that only God knows how Queen Elizabeth will spend eternity. Our hope is that she truly trusted the Lord for her salvation. We can certainly pray for Charles as he begins to reign as the king of the U.K. We can pray for all of the family in this time of grief.

For me, this monarchy has very little effect on my life. But it has a role to play in history and how it unfolds in our world. I pray that God will show mercy to this kingdom and bring to be one that exalts Jesus and governs justly.

So soon after her visit with the new p.m.. two days after. I have become so suspicious and sceptical of people . Perhaps , these thoughts I have are from the evil one and not the holy spirit. Our world is in chaos, again are these .thoughts motivated by what is seen a.nd heard. Thank you for your response. God bless.

Thank you I was not aware of this. The queen is the perfect example of benevolence. If America can learn anything, it might consider Her example in the leadership ii needs to move ahead in the future.
