Can someone explain Hebrews 10:26-27. Reading it makes me question if you can't be forgiven for past sin, while we are told that if we confess our sins we will be forgiven. I'm a tad confused.

    Thank you.

Lorraine just 1 more thing....When Jesus said one shall be taken and 1 shall be left.... Matthew 24:40....They replied where lord where then Jesus said where so ever the body is there will the eagles be gathered together....Its our bodies where the Tares and and the wheat live till the Harvest ...So the eagles are the reapers where our our lord said the eagles will be gathered to gether to destroy the Tares from our Bodies...As judgement must began at the house of God as our BODIES are his House...Abide in me and i in you...So the Kingdom of God is gona be within us....In our bodies etc...But the Tare will be there also...But the reapers are the eagles that will destroy the TARES FROM OUR BODIES...MAKING HIS HOUSE CLEAN....Judgement must began at the house of God our Bodies...ok lemme go

Lorraine i just wanted to add one thing....Even if we do sin there is no condemnation to them in Christ Jesus who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit....There is no way we can be bornagain of an incorruptible seed even by the words of God without getting a Tare which is Satans seed....Jesus tells us while men slept satan came and sowed Tares among the Wheat...And Jesus said to let them grow together till the Harvest....Thus we are gonna sin sometimes but there is no condemnation to them in Christ Jesus....The reason there is no condemnation is simply b/c we cannot help it...Its the Tares that make us do it...Thats y Paul said if i do something i don't consent unto, its not i that does it but sin (the Tare) that is in my members.... Romans 7:16

.....Thats the good part, There is no condemnation to them in Christ Jesus....Simply b/c its the Tares that make us do it...Thats y Jesus is saying we must endure to the end which is the Harvest when the Tares are gona be burnt to ashes....And we the Wheat the H.G. That Child of PROMISE are gona be taken to his barn...The Kingdom...But for now its Kingdom against Kingdom....war in Heaven b/c of the Tares...Satans seed....Just read Matthew 13:18 for a clear picture of the 2 seeds...The Wheat and the Tares...One will be taken and 1 will be left...k lemme go

Hiya Lorraine....When we are bornagain its by hearing his words which are his good seeds...Thats y Peter says being bornagain of an incorruptible seed...Thus the wheat is a baby Christ...The H.G...Even by the words of God etc....But Satan sows another seed in us which is the Tare a Demonic seed....Then there is Kingdom against Kingdom...A warfare in us...And somtimes we Sin....But its b/c of the Tare as Paul said if i do something I donot consent unto,.. its not I that does it but sin that dwells in my members...Oh Wretched man that I am...With my mind i serve the law of God but with my Flesh ( the Tare ) the law of sin..We have become 2 ppl ...The Wheat and the Tares make us 2 ppl..Thats y Jesus said he that endures till the end will be saved....Which is the Harvest when the reapers will come and gather up the Tares and burn them...But Jesus said the wheat will be gathered to my barn his kingdom...But Paul said if i do something i donot consent unto, Its not i that does it but sin that dwells in my members..The Tare was his His thorn in the flesh...The beast which is the Tare is riding our FLESH...Our old adamic nature Thats y we must endure to the end when the Tares are gathered up and burned at the Harvest...Its just as Jesus said the KINGDOM of God is gona suffer violence...But the violent take it by force which is the Wheat,..Christ in us and Jesus is a man of war..His words were smother then Oil but war was in his heart...His words were softer then butter but they were as drawn Swords...Thats y John saw war in heaven...Its the Wheat against the Tares THE Dragon is trying to kill the Woman with Child...And we are the woman with Child, the Child being the wheat the H.G living bread from Heaven..A baby Christ that spirit of Truth that has to come and reprove the world of sin and righteousness but he cannot speak of his self simply b/c he is just an infant...The Woman has just given birth to him he is just an infant...Unless ya receive the kingdom as a lil Child.

If you confess your sin before God, based wholly on your love & faith in Christ to have done it for you at Calvary, then yes, you will be forgiven ( 1 John 1:9) - not on anything you could have done to gain God's favor, but what Jesus has done that causes God to forgive you & accept you. People trusting in their own efforts, or even making sacrifices or pursuing self-denials to gain God's acceptance, will never succeed - nothing works, except the shed Blood of Jesus.

Hello Lorraine. Usually, when we look at a verse we tend to form an opinion based on what that verse seems to be telling us. Yet, the general rule is that we need to consider what the writer is actually writing about (in that chapter or book). So, I don't believe that these verses ( Hebrews 10:26,27) speak about forgiveness of past & present sins but of what was taking place at that time.

Just looking at Hebrews chapter 10 only, we see from verses 1 to 8 that the writer is writing about the temporary nature of the Law & that it was never meant to be able to deal with the sin question. The sacrifices were only a 'covering' for Israel's sins to avert God's punishment for their disobedience, until God's Own Sacrifice in Jesus (verses 9 to 21) would adequately make full payment for all sin for all people who turn to Him.

Then from verse 26, the writer declares, "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sinsbut a looking for of judgement". We might think that he is writing about any wilful sin, but then in verse 29, he explains it, "Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?"

So here we see what he meant by sinning wilfully; this was a sin of returning back to the Law & Sacrifices, thereby not only negating Jesus' Sacrifice, but deeming it inadequate or even unnecessary to secure salvation & to avert God's Anger. To those who now believed this, the writer says he will be even 'more sorely punished' because unbelief is one thing, but to trample on Jesus' Sacrifice disregarding the pure Blood that was shed for us, is unforgiveable. And as Levi as written, 'it becomes an unpardonable sin' to hold such a belief.

after your sins has been forgiven and you know Jesus and walking with him then you decided deliberately turn back from Jesus and walk way. (ultimately reject Jesus in favor of their sin)

    Hebrew 10:22-23

So lets us follow him his from our hearts and not partially one foot to the world and holding to his words.

Remember if we abide in him he will abide in us .

22Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

23Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

Thank you for your response. Definitely something to think about.

It's talking about the unpardonable sin, Luke 12:10 ,, after receiving the FULL knowledge of THE TRUTH, and when you know the false christ comes first,,, but, since many differ on this and that, and on what this sin is, I'll just say that this sin cannot happen until the great tribulation begins; when God's elect are delivered up unto the synagogue's of Satan and THEN willfully sin by refusing The Holy Spirit to speak through them. because THAt DAy draws near.

In verse 27, the looking for, means the (expecting) of the Judgement and fiery indignation, about to devour the adversaries.

    Hope this helps!
