    Who is the preacher speaking inn verse one ,chapter one?

    Hi Brenda. In Ecclesiastes 1:1, the preacher is clearly Solomon, King David's son, & king in Jerusalem. No one else could fit that description. The word, 'preacher' is used here, but in Hebrew, it comes out as a 'teacher, a convener of people'. And so he was: not only a king but also one who taught the people, as is written about him in 1 Kings 4:29-34 & 1 Kings 10:23,24.
