    I feel compelled to clarify that the baptism Peter speaks of is a baptism of spirit, an emersion in the spirit of Christ. The water baptism that we all receive in front of the church is symbolic of our death to self and our resurrection in Christ. The heart of the man is the matter and it most certainly is necessary that the Holy Spirit be embraced in the heart. The act of being baptized in water in itself does not insure salvation it is a public profession of an inner change or “baptism” that has already taken place.
