Isaiah 9:6 - For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Jesus is called the "mighty God" in clear terms. Amen. If anyone reading this is somehow not convinced in his/her heart and mind that this verse is true, there are dozens more in the Bible like it. I'm happy to share a long list of them.
Those who want to deny Jesus's divinity may a hard road ahead to continue denying God's truth throughout the rest of the Bible, because there's so many verses asserting Jesus's divinity. Beware of false teachers planting seeds of corruption. God's truth is already here in His Word. Pray, seek, and ask God directly to confirm what the truth is. Satan lurks like a lion ready to devour. I believe he devours people through planting falsehoods and tempting with the fruit of an attractive lie. How convenient that he even targets Christians to slowly step by step begin unravelling their faith through the process of denying Jesus. Clever tactic that unfortunately some have fallen victim of. Keep watch. We already have the truth in front of us in God's Word to help confirm what is true and what is a lie. We need the armor of God on and to stay vigilant. The end is drawing near. God bless.
I'm not sure if you're replying to me or to Brother Adam but I don't see where neither of us said Jesus had a beginning or ending. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding your reply.
Hiya Billybob...Gbu but you may want to check out John 17:5 KJV....Father, Glorify thou me with thine own self even with the Glory i had with you b/f the world was...Jesus said that all men are to honor the Son even as we honor the father....He that honoreth not the son honoreth not the Father that has sent him...And Philippians 2:6 He, Jesus thought it not robbery to be equal to God his FATHER....And Billy,... Jesus has the Power to propagate very God in us humans....When he breathe on them ( his words were his Breath/his seeds )... he said receive YE the H.G....And the H.G. is also God...Jesus was not only God the son but he has the power to propagate very God in humanity....In Genisis 1:28 Every thing has to Multiply/reproduce after its kind thats y the sower wants to sow his precious seed in us,...Initiating a birth of Christ in us..Our new birth..Thats y he has to know us,...Thats when that good seed is sown in us thats y he said that which is born of the spirit is spirit which is the H.G. That Child of promise...That was the great Promise of the Multiplication of Christ as the stars of heaven in multitude....Thats y we refer to the H.G. as the Promise the H.G. IS THE MULTIPLCATION OF CHRIST IN US VIS HIS SEEDS HIS WORDS HIS BREATH...
.....And he said to whom the Word came ( his seed ) it made them Gods....impling the gift of God, the H.G. WHICH IS THE CHILD of PROMISE....Remember when God made that great Promise of multiplication he swore by himself....Thus the Gift of GOD, the H.G. is also God..A living being that is gonna be born in US via the seeds of Jesus...Unless you receive the Kingdom of God as a lil CHILD YOU WILL IN NO WISE ENTER THERE IN..OK LEMME GO...When Jesus said whosoever receiveth one such Child in my name receiveth me....Thats the H.G. the manchild that has to be born in us that is gonna rule all nations...The H.G. cannot be born in us without his seed the words of the book of life...Thus he has to know us...the new birth requires his seed
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
I also like Malachi 2:17-Malachi 3:1.
"Ye have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied him? When ye say, Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and he delighteth in them; or, WHERE IS THE GOD OF JUDGMENT?
BEHOLD, I WILL SEND MY MESSENGER, AND HE SHALL PREPARE THE WAY BEFORE ME: AND THE LORD, WHOM YE SEEK, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.
Now fast forward to where the prophecy was fulfilled.
Mark 1:1-3. The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;
As it is written in the prophets, BEHOLD, I SEND MY MESSENGER BEFORE THY FACE, WHICH SHALL PREPARE THY WAY BEFORE THEE.
The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
Matthew 11:7-10. And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?
But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they that wear soft clothing are in kings' houses.
But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet.
For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
John the baptist prepared the way for God to as prophesied.
You may want to check your theology, God has no beginnings or ends . That is what eternity is and God inhabits eternity. Jesus had a beginning and end you say .
While it is true that the Son of God never had a beginning nor will have an end, He is eternal, as is the Father and Spirit. But the humanity that the Son took on did have a beginning when He was conceived in Mary. His deity was from everlasting to everlasting.
On another note, eternity is not a realm that God exists in. Eternity is in the very essence of God. Otherwise, if eternity is a separate realm than God then, something other than God existed in eternity past and He is dependent on this realm to exist. But this is not true. Before creation, only God existed and He eternally exists without constraints of any kind-neither time nor space. He is self-existing and self-sufficient (not needing anything outside of Himself to exist or be completely satisfied or forced to act. So it would be as correct to say that God is Eternal Life as it is to say God is Love
Hi Billybob, I'm not clear on what you believe, because you wrote "God has no beginnings or endings" then wrote about "begotten" with "If that's not a beginning nothing is " which seem like opposite views.
I know from experience that people often assume "begotten" means created, but seem to be misinterpreting it. Link You can look up the original word meaning in strongs. Heb 1:5 for example.
To believe Jesus is created would involve ignoring scripture that clearly debunks that: for example John 1:1-3.
But that's not the only scripture that debunks the "Jesus created" theory. Psalms 2:7 was written maybe 1,000 years or more before Jesus became a man, but it also says Jesus is begotten there in Psalms 2:7. And if you read verse 8 it further explains what it means about Jesus being sent to earth.
Phil 2:5-11. Paraphrased interpretation: Jesus was the form of God but didn't consider it a prize, but chose to temporarily take the form of a servant (a man) and to die for our sins.
True God: ( 1 John 5:20) - This is a direct assertion that Jesus, being the true God, is not only divine, but is the Divine. Because the Bible says there is only one God, this is describing His nature as part of the triune God.
Hebrews 1:8 "But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom." The Son is called "God."
I Am: ( John 8:58, with Exodus 3:14) - When Jesus ascribed to Himself this title, the Jews tried to stone Him for blasphemy.
2 Pet. 1:1 "Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:"
"our God and our Saviour"
Matthew 10:33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

Can you elaborate?

Severe penalty for denying Jesus.
Matthew 10:22, 2 Thessalonians 2:10.
