Why does God give us emotions and then not want us to use them?? I'm having angry issues and trouble with jealousy! Not as bad as I use to but still there!

    Dear Lat,

Our emotions are given to use to be responsive to what happens in our daily lives. They are meant to help us. But we can use them in sinful ways. We need to gain wisdom to know when we are sinning with our emotions and learn what they feel like when we use them to God's glory. We can certainly pray for this wisdom, especially praying for the fruits of the Spirit as stated in Galatians, which are characteristics of a believer led by the Holy Spirit instead of the sinful nature. One who is led by the Spirit will still feel all of the emotions God has created in us, but this person will hold their emotions in check and resisting the urge to sin when we feel emotions strongly or use our emotions to manipulate others.

I would encourage you to knee down and repent your sins before the lord, the sins of jealously the sins of anger and ask God to show you any hidden sins in your life and repent anything he will show you

I want you to understand the wicked have no rest because they have unrepeated sins hence they try all they can to find rest

and ask God to remove this spirit of anger in your heart.

    as it is written

    Isaiah 57:20

20 But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.

21 There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.

    Read this word

    Psalms 18:6

In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.

    Pray for an

    Ezekiel 36:26

26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

Make your request known him to his God is faithful

every man, woman& i personally believe some animals are born with emotions, or what we humans call feelings happiness,loneliness,sadness,love,etc.etc. these are gifts of God, the Lord has them and we have them. its only the knowledge of good&evil in us all as imperfect humans and do apply it to a perfect gift that we ourselves create a sinful result. when we are mad and apply humanism to it we are mad then angry then RAGE that's a sin, sadness to depression, like someone, love them then LUST after them is a sin that we create. you can just about apply every natural emotion with a unnatural feeling that we take to the extreme

Hi Lat, my perspective is that what God created is good, but we have a choice in how we use God's gifts for good or for evil. Emotions aren't inherantly bad. Jesus expressed anger for example and that wasn't bad. If someone hurt one of my family members I would be ok with being angry for a period of time, but what actions people may take as a result of their feeling can be good or evil. Anger is not the same as hurting someone, for example. Those are 2 separate things.

People always have a moral decision to make and we always have a way to escape sin. Also people have more control of their emotions than what most people admit. People even have totally opposite emotions for the exact same circumstances. For example, someone may get a flat tire and be furious, but someone else may not care and be happy and content. For example if you were just married you would probably let it slide. If you just got a promotion or just won the lottery right before getting a flat tire I doubt you'd choose to have too negative of emotions over it. I don't know if this is common knowlege or not, but I'm surprised how many people I observe who assume they have no control over it as if they are a victim of their emotions that they themselves choose to have. God bless.
