as the high priest. After preparing and consecrating all of the offerings, Moses took some anointing oil and some blood from the altar where the sacrifices were burning and sprinkled it on Aaron, on his garments, on his sons, and on their garments. Thus fully consecrating them from head to toe. We, too, are anointed with the blood of Jesus and the oil of the Holy Spirit to consecrate us to God for the service He has determined for us to do in our lives. The priests served every day. So do we.
After all of this Moses told Aaron to boil the flesh of the ram at the door of the tabernacle and then he and his sons were to eat it with the bread that remained of the consecrated bread. They were to eat in within the tabernacle enclosure and they could not leave the tabernacle for 7 days. Thus they were atoned for and consecrated to YHWH. Their "dwelling" was in the tent of YHWH for this time.
We are "in Christ" when we are saved. We are set apart for service to God for the rest of our lives just as the priest were to spend all of their lives serving YHWH through these ordinances and rites.
Jesus is our High Priest. His human nature was consecrated to the Father from the moment of His conception in Mary. He lived His human life in obedience to God without ever sinning, so He was the Perfect One to which all of these sacrifices and anointings shadowed. The chapter ends with Aaron and his sons doing all that the LORD had commanded. That is what Jesus did, only He did this for all of His human life, never faltering, never disobeying, never unwilling. He said that His food was to do the will of His Father. Praise be to Him. He is everything we need to be saved and to be made priests unto God!
