- Believers in the lord Jesus Christ they need to Pick up their bible which is the sword and Put on the Armour
Being sober waiting in the lord Jesus Christ.
-all Christians need to be committed before God and Obey the word His word then Jesus will abide in us and we in him.
-when we slack around then we became a salt that has lost it saltness which becomes worthless but for casting out and be trodden under the foot of men and the words which will we preach is unable to move sinners towards repentance
and this is what the church has done, and we are experiencing across the world.
so, as it's written in Hebrews 5:12-14
For though by this time, you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food, 13 for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is fa child. 14 But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.
-Let us not forget the great commission but watching always in prayers and reading, praying and fasting before God
all the time.
Mathew 28:19
19. go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them min2 the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
Hello Duncan . Enjoy your posts , thank you . Are you quoting the KJV ? I notice Matthew chapter 28 verse 20 in my KJV says : and , lo , I am with you alway , even to the end of the world ( not age ) . Amen . This is a KJV site , not just a Christian site . Those two words in that context ( world and age ) could be interpreted very differently .
Sammi, although this is a "KJV" site, there is nothing in the guidelines that say all Bible quotes need to be from the KJV. Some people do not own a KJV and may type a quote from their Bible that is not KJV. It is helpful for these people to indicate the version they are quoting from. I was in this situation until I found a KJV at a second hand shop. Before then I would type (NIV) after my quote so people will know what version it is from. Readers can always go to there KJV to read the quoted verse if they so wish.
I don't think we should set rules for this site that are not delineated in the guidelines and be gracious to all.
I try not to second guess people or assume to know what they're thinking or what their motives are . I'm a plain speaker with no hidden motives or agenda and I'm never looking for confrontation of any kind . I'm too happy and laid back to get embroiled in circular contentions . I hope you are feeling better and that you have a lovely day with your loved ones . Best wishes to you all .
No problem , it's very easy for missunderstandings to occur when we are communicating with strangers and only by typing . So much communication is missed when we can't see each others body language and facial expressions and we have no idea of each others personalities in reality .
Thank you! I read through the guidelines and rules this morning and did not see anything about that either. I started to post something earlier but changed my mind.
I would like to add something though. What seemed to be in question was the word age vs world. Although the KJV does say world, other versions say age.
Personally, what I do in situations like this is go to the source of our multitude of English translations. When I go to the Greek text, it is the word age in Greek. So to say age would be proper.
I am hoping that Duncan will give his own response. Something else I have noticed is someone sharing their email address. Although I like the idea of being able to do that (if we do choose), if I am not mistaken, the rules forbid us from doing that.
Thank you Jesse, for double checking the guidelines.
For me, I do check several translations if I read something that is unclear from another, even the KJV can be unclear. I am glad you come on here and help us with Greek.
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed?
and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard?
and how shall they hear without a preacher?
And how shall they preach, except they be sent?
as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!"
