Our minister finished his New Years Eve sermon with this poem.

"You Tell on Yourself"

You tell on yourself by the friends you seek,

By the very manner in which you speak,

By the way you employ your leisure time,

By the use you make of dollar and dime,

You tell what you are by the things you wear,

By the spirit in which you burdens bear,

By the kind of things at which you laugh,

By the records you play on the phonograph,

You tell what you are by the way you walk,

By the things of which you delight to talk,

By the manner in which you bear defeat,

By so simple a thing as how you eat.

By the books you choose from the well-filled shelf,

In these ways, and more, you tell on yourself.

I get where he was coming from , I really truly do , however , if that's true 100 per cent then we are all doomed . We are all sinners , all day every day and we shouldn't be judging each other by what we wear , how we speak , eat etc , that's judging by the sight of our eyes . Thanks be to God that He doesn't judge is in those ways , He judges our hearts . Now it's true , for sure , that the way we present and express ourselves can be an indication of what goes on in our hearts and minds , I can't dispute that . But it's not the whole picture . God sees through all of our artifice and facades and looks right at our hearts . I've often wondered how blind people see others , they don't look at our clothes or facial expressions etc . All they know about other people is how they treat them . I've met some very charming , handsome , well mannered smart people , atheists the lot of them . We can't see each other on here . We don't know what each other looks like , dresses like , eats like speaks like etc . We just know each others posts . All mine come from my heart . My foolish , weak , insecure , brash , impatient heart . Take it or leave it .

Amen, God knew we'd continue to twist, add, take away from & mangle His word so He sent His ONLY son to be the last sacrifice EVER needed & Jesus last words "it is finished" said it all. John 3:15-21 not just 16 like the world teaches. The world teaches parts of the bible & rarely ever Gods will for us. 'Gods will is for all to love Him with all their being (heart, mind, soul & strength) & your neighbor as yourself (helping anyone in need & praying for our enemies)'. If the world did this it wouldn't be in the shape its in. Making up rules, changing laws & slowly but surely making it all seem that evil is of God. It is NOT, it is of satan & the false preachers are teaching wrong to suit their evil ways, making it seem it is of God. As long as it is putting your hard earned money in their pockets making them & satan prosper (& they don't care about you) more as you end up homeless, I know I'm living proof. Not going to drop names yet if your listening to a huge fancy church, I can almost guarantee they are not for the truth yet for themselves. *A few good ones are: Justin Peters, Voddie Baucham, John Macarthur*. Definitely not anyone screaming the Lords word at you, pretending to heal ppl (cause if they could nobody would be in a wheel chair) or they ask for your money. God doesn't need your money &...and there is ONLY 1 way to heaven.! Jesus is the ONLY way!! Tithe is from your heart as you feel led & God will guide you of your time needed to help those in need as well. Preachers need to help in America more too.! Qs: If they are ALL helping other countries (& have been for years) why then do these countries still go without?? Only God can heal, people. Women are to teach the ladies & children, not men.! Abuse of any kind is not of God either.! Rambled again Sammi.. :) I pray to all to read daily, study as God said to & learn His word the way He intended. .

You never ramble , you pour your heart out , I'm the same . I don't spend any time editing my posts or writing them out first and thinking about them for any length of time . Maybe that's a fault but I like to speak from my heart , I recognise that in you too . I wish I could be more organized and precise with my posts , I love the guys and girls who do that , they make themselves clear straight away . I'm thankful to be able to enjoy your ramblings and hope that you don't mind mine .
