Do any other Christians out there , have a similar problem to me ?

My problem is.....I'm happy . I genuinely feel guilty about this . There is so much misery and fear and deprivation in this world and yet.....I can't be anything other than happy . I know the only reason I'm happy is because I know the Truth and I do feel sorry for everyone who doesn't know the Truth . I feel sorry for people with health problems I feel sorry for people who have no where warm and safe to sleep at night I feel sorry for everyone who doesn't get enough to eat or who is lonely or depressed . But I can't be anything other than happy and I'm racked with guilt over my permanent state of happiness . How do I resolve this ? There have been times in my life when I very definately was not happy but , only before I knew the Truth . Ever since God granted me a measure of understanding of His Word and faith in it , I have been happy . I feel so guilty , like I don't deserve to feel happy , but at the same time I can't stop myself from feeling happy . Anyone else know what I'm talking about ?

    Philippians 4:4, Psalms 68:3, 1Thessalonians 5:5-24,

    Romans 12:5-21,

    Not forgetting: James 2:15-20,

    Hopefully these are helpful

Thanks , those references have helped a lot . I guess we wouldn't be the best ambassadors for the Truth if we were all walking around with miserable faces . May God bless you with even more reasons to rejoice in Him .

    Sammi,

I meant to say in my second line, "even though you are happy" instead of "while you are happy".

    Hi Sammi,

I hear you, and I believe what you are experiencing is shared by most of us. Our feelings of guilt in regards to this stem from the realization that YOU cannot heal every bit of suffering in the world, while you are happy. My friend, you are full of compassion, which spurs us on towards merciful actions. But not a single person in this world should expect his/herself to take on such a monstrous task alone, even those with the awareness the Holy Spirit in them.

Guilt, in this sense is unproductive. Guilt's function is to keep you in prison. And the Holy Spirit's goal and will is to release. Help those around you when and if you can, which I'm confident you already do. Work on broken or suffering relationships through forgiveness as Christ directs you. And in your forgiveness try to keep in mind that ONLY forgiveness as MERITED will heal. I read your prayers Sammi;they are truly heartfealt as all the prayers I read on this site. None of them are in vain. Leave them at the altar of God, where they should be left. We will see the results of some of them and experience the joy and HAPPINESS they bring us and others. Don't be concerned with not perceiving all of them as answered, as the timing is not your responsibility. Nor are the results or even the awareness of the result. Leave it to the Answer of all prayer.

You ARE worthy and fully deserving of God's Perfect Love. You need not degrade nor punish yourself. You are a child of the One

Living God. I appreciate you. Stay happy and rejoice!

    Peace and blessings

    GOD IS

I think that it's great to be happy especially if you know the Lord sometimes I get like that I'll sit down at the bus stop or somewhere and I start fellowshipping I just can't stop myself usually people don't mind they they like their Fellowship I don't know if that helps at all or anything but I think it's a great thing to be happy

Thank you John . It feels great to know that I , we , are never alone and we have the support and guidance of our Heavenly Father . I'm glad to know that you are able to share your joy in the Lord . May God bless you and may He keep you smiling .
