"Of his own will begat (past tense) he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures."

John 1:12-13

"12 But as many as received him, to them gave (as soon as they receive him, NOT in the future) he power to become the sons of God), even to them that believe on his name:

13 Which were (past tense) born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."

I have a question, and would like your to meditate on that question?

All the scriptures you quoted about being born again now; instead of later, at the death of this body, were written 1900 years ago.

You were not born as of yet but your were already born again.

God always speaks as if it has already happen, in his eyes the works are finished.

Psalms 90:9 .....we spend our years as a tale that is (already) told.

Hebrews 4:3 ..... the works were finished from the foundations of the world.

1 Timothy 4:10 ....who is the saviour of ALL MEN, specially those that BELIEVE.

Paul and any other author of any other book in the Bible wrote those writtings for the people living at their time. But they serve as teachings for all people of all time.

If you have a closer look at those verses and read carefully the chapters where those verses are in then you will understand their meaning. GBU

Thank you for that , very helpful , we shall all of us know everything when Christ returns and changes us from this body of sinful flesh into incorruptible newness of life eternal .Until then , we have this forum to hash it out and encourage each other . Thanks again .

Thanks for your excellent reply , it requires a bit of time and study from me but I like that ! The only thing that is still problematic for me is , that it seems that you are saying that I don't have a choice in the matter , as if it's not my fault when I sin ? If I'm getting that wrong please forgive me . I take my own sinfulness very seriously , I actually ask God , in prayer : please don't ever allow me to forget my own sinfulness . I know we all have our own specific weaknesses when it comes to sin , what one person can easily resist another person struggles with , but I've always been lead to believe , from being a child , that it's me who sins , me who deserves the punishment for my sins and that I have a choice in the matter , it's hard for me to think of it any other way . I totally understood your response and appreciate especially the references that you gave , I shall be studying them carefully I promise , thanks again .

I always appreciate your posts , hope you don't mind that I have a question . When you speak about the Holy Spirit being born in us , I understand what you mean , I know that I am a different person to who I was before I knew the Truth and I understand about the Holy Spirit being in me and guiding me etc . What I don't understand is how the Holy Spirit can be in me when I am still a sinner . Ok , I'm not a murderer or a rapist or a thief , but I do still sin , every day . How can I be full of the Holy Spirit and still be me ? a sinner ?

Good question Sammi...When we are bornagain we birth the wheat a baby Christ...But while men slept the enemy comes and sows the Tares which is satans seed then we are involved in a war making us sin...Paul says when i wd do good evil is present with me O wretched man that i am...Paul was involved in a warfare with what he describes as another law ( the Tare) in my members bring me unto captivity.. Romans 7 :25...With my mind i serve the law of God but with my flesh ( the Tare ) satans seed...the law of Sin...We are 2 ppl b/c of the Wheat and the Tares...If i do something i donot consent unto its no more i that does it but Sin that dwells in me...Satan puts a Tare in us and we cannot control it totally...Paul describes it as a thorn in the flesh...And God wd not remove it till the end...We have to endure till the end the HARVEST...Then the Tares are gathered in bundles and burned as Jesus said...But the wheat to his barn the Kingdom...

He that is filthy let him be filthy still, him that is unjust let him be unjust still...Thats the Tares in us...They have to hold their position till the end...The Harvest

He that is righteous let him be righteous still....He that is Holy let him be Holy still...Thats the Wheat in us..They have to hold their position till the Harvest.. which is Kingdom against Kingdom...Satans ( the dragon ) tries to kill the woman and her Child in Rev 12...But he is destroyed....And her Child ( the H.G. ) is caught up to God and to his throne...Rev12:5

He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity . Rev 13:10... He that killeth with the sword shall be killed with the sword...Which is the Tares...Satans seat....The beast he rides is our old adamic nature...When i wd do good evil is present with me...Thats the Tares in us...The thorn in us as Paul describes it..Jesus tells us wherever that good seed is sown satan is gonna come and sow a TARE...Which is gonna make us sin...But where sin abounds Grace does much more abound...Rom.5:20 kjv
