  • Alex1939 - In Reply - 1 year ago
Hi Kalebu...All thru the Old Testament....The tabernacle was for a House for God to dwell in...And it had 3 parts,..3 Dividions....But the holist was where God wd meet with the Priests....The tribe of Levi...

But God wanted a new COVENANT....And a new temple ....And this New Temple wd be mans hearts and minds....Abide in me and i in you...Now the H.G. is our high Priest...And he has to be born in us....Now under this new covenant our bodies are the temple of the H.G. ....OK GTG....BBL

Indeed, Alex, our bodies are now the temple (tabernacle) (tent of meeting) where the Holy Spirit abides in us. We are born again by the Spirit, but He is not born in us anew. There is only one Father, and only one Son, Jesus, and only one Holy Spirit. But, because God is everywhere present, He is able to live in all believers simultaneously without replicating Himself, as replicating Himself or multiplying Himself would be a change in His essential Being, which the Bible is clear about, He does not change.

But, gladly, we have the presence of God in us as we profess Jesus and believe the gospel. Our spirit is what is born anew. Whereas it was dead and at enmity to God from our sin nature, the Holy Spirit regenerates our spirit and works through our spirit to sanctify us, in our spirt, soul, and body.

In Hebrews, we are told that Jesus is our High Priest, because He is both human and God. So, as a perfect human, He is our perfect High Priest to be both the sacrifice and the offeror for our redemption. He forever is our High Priest, always our Mediator between man and God. How wonderful!

Today I am able to type two-handed. Yeah! I'll be getting back to you on your other post to me soon.

    Hi Kalebu,

I see the temple of God as representing our relationship with God, which I feel is in agreement with what Ronald has spoken. In addition, the altar within the temple/tabernacle is representative of the Mind of God. Although some may disagree, neither have anything to do with the body, yet a healed body is the reflection of a mind which is in perfect alignment with the Holy Spirit i.e the Voice for God, which speaks ONLY for the Mind of God.

    Blessings,

    Hi Kalebu,

I will give my understanding, and others may differ. The tabernacle is the place to host the presence of God on earth. In Exodus 25 God gives the pattern to Moses to build the tabernacle (the tent of meeting), a sacred place to communicate with God. Later Solomon built the first temple which is also a tabernacle in the old sacrificial system.

The people would bring an animal and lay their hand on its head and pass their sin onto the sacrifice. The high priest had to go in once a year with the blood of a bull for an offering for himself and the people, but it did not take away the sins, (the conscience). This was a foreshadowing of the Messiah, Jesus the high priest to come, Heb. 9 and Heb. 10.

When Jesus the Messiah came and was baptized by John the Holy Spirit filled Jesus without measure, John 3:34. The sacred space, the communication and fellowship with God, the tabernacle the true light coming into the world, John 1:14, God was manifest in the flesh 1 Tim.3:16, who communicated directly with men.

As Jesus told the woman at the well John 4:21-24 if we accept Jesus as the Messiah who has come in the flesh, He died for our sins and was raised from the dead, and only through Him do we have access to God and only in Him the name of Jesus is salvation and when we are baptized and sealed with the Holy Spirit we become a tabernacle a place to host the presence of God through the Holy Spirit by our high priest and mediator Jesus.

This is my understanding please study for your own.

    God bless,

    RLW
