My question is, Do I have to be a member at a church to take the Lord supper? I am baptized but I am not a member of any of the churches yet although I've been going to FC (Family Baptist Church.
I don't subscribe to that view Jessie at all. The Lord's Table is a table of remembrance & thanksgiving for all that the Lord Jesus has done for those who belong to Him. When we partake of it in a worthy manner, it means that we first check ourselves, that our hearts are clean & we come to share in these memorial emblems in a befitting way, in a serious contemplative manner.
Nowhere in the Bible are we required to be Church members first - if a Fellowship requires this (don't know whether yours is requiring it or you were just enquiring), then it would be according to their policy, which is not biblical. In fact, even having a Church membership, which is generally encouraged by many, is also unbiblical. So, you will have to re-consider your position within the Fellowship you're attending: become a member as per their requirement, or by-pass the emblems, or leave & attend elsewhere. I have been to a couple of Assemblies where this segregation was practised; not because of my desire but by invitation - it felt very peculiar to be side-lined because of being an outsider. My thought is that the requirement to be a member before partaking of the Lord's Table, is to ensure that the Church knows you, your faith & your lifestyle - as a worthy person to join in this with them. But the Bible requires that "a man examine himself" first - not for a Church examination.
