P. 1 Paul called the return of Jesus Christ the day of the Lord Jesus Christ, the day of Jesus Christ, or the day of Christ. 2.Thes.2:1-2 (1) Now we besceech you, brethren, by the (coming of our Lord Jesus Christ), and by our gathering together unto him. (2) That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that (the day of Christ) is at hand. Paul also says in v.1, "and by our gathering together unto him". 1.Cor.1:8 Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in (the day of our Lord Jesus Christ). Phil.1:6,10 (6) Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good thing in you will perform it until (the day of Jesus Christ). (10) That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till (the day of Christ). Now (the day of the Lord) will come the same day, but be very different! 1.Thes.5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. (3) For when they shall say peace and safety; then (sudden destruction) cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. (The day of the Lord is darkness, destruction, it is the wrath of God being poured on the disobedient ones left on the earth) 2.Pet.3:10 But (the day of the Lord) will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with ferment heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. These verses tell us (the day of the Lord) is not a good thing. Joel.1:15 Alas for the day! for (the day of the LORD) is at hand, (as a destruction) from the Almighty shall it come. Amos.5:18,20 (18) Woe unto you that desire (the day of the LORD)! to what end is it for you? (the day of the LORD) ((is darkness)), and not light. (20) Shall (the day of the LORD) ((be darkness and not light))? even very dark, and no brightness in it.
