And it (wisdom) shall be given to him. You see, there's a promise there. But it's not the promise that we think. If we isolate Verse 5, it shows that God gives wisdom generously. Well, He does. Except it's through Verses 1 through 4. It's through trials that He gives. The trials come to teach us to place our trust in Christ. That's how we gain wisdom.
And then James 1:6-8 says "But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double-minded man (a double-psyche) is unstable in all his ways.
So, I can ask the Lord for wisdom and then begin to waver as soon as He starts putting me in tough circumstances. My emotions would be flying all over the place and it could lead to panic and anxiety.
We have to understand that we ask, and we enter into trials in order to endure through them by trusting the Lord. But we have problems with that sometimes. It's like I know I should be trusting the Lord and I know what the bible says, but look what I'm going through, and it's a big mess! That is an unstable person that can't be ready to ask for wisdom. They've got to learn to endure their trials first.
It is not wrong to ask for wisdom. James 1:5 tells us to ask. But we have to be careful what we are asking for!
Lemme just say this if we have the mind of Christ we will have all the wisdom we need....Which is the Anointing that will teach us all things....1 st John 2:27 The anointing you have received of him abideth in you and you need no man teach you...The anointing will teach you all things....And the anointing is that Promise of Christ being multiplied in humanity...The H.G....And this Anointing is the H.G....That Child of Promise...The spirit of truth that is gonna lead us into all truth...ok....Thats y Jesus said a lil Child is gonna lead you...whosoever receiveth one such child in my name receiveth me...
.....Thats y he always refers to himself as the Son of man....Mankind is gona birth a baby Christ...That Child of Promise....Thats y the sower wants to sow his precious seed in our hearts...That Christ might be multiplied as the stars of heaven in us sinners....Thus the need for that New Covenant in his blood...ok...There is a Child in your future...She brought forth a manchild that is gona rule all nations....Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature....Remember Rachel loss her Children...But she is gonna get them back...But in the Spirit as that which is born of the spirit is spirit which is the gift of God the H.G....Thats y Jeremiah saw all men in travail and birth pains... Jeremiah 30:6
A time of Jacobs troubles impling an Israel of God...That Heavenly Jacob....The H.G. that 3 rd person...ok lemme go
Hi Pierre, do you think your annointing is same as mind of Christ and having the holy spirit?
I have known ppl to abuse this assumption privilege by claiming they cant sin or never sin when they sin, or, maybe just say the spirit made them do it. And if you already have all the wisdom of Solomon or God why read the Bible is you have nothing new to learn?
Hiya Adam yes we still sin but there in no condemnation to them in Christ Jesus.... Romans 8 :1 kjv...That walk not after the flesh but after the spirit...The 2 men in 1 bed is a perfect picture of myself...When i wd do good evil is present with me...But as Paul said if i do something i do not consent unto its not i that does it but sin that dwells in my members....Oh Wretched man that i am....Meaning the Tare that satan seed that is sown in Paul... Romans 7:24... thus a warfare in the Spirit....Kingdom against Kingdom....Violence in heaven....Thats y we must endure to the end when the Tares and gathered up and burned...But the Wheat to his barn the Kingdom....And that Kingdom is gona be with in us simply b/c that Kingdom seed is sown in our hearts and minds...Which forms Christ in us... Gal 4:19... My lil Children of whom i travail in birth till Christ is formed in you via that incorruptible seed...Which is the manchild the H.G. that Child of Promise...The Kingdom cannot come lest he sows his good seed in our hearts unless you receive the Kingdom of God as a lil Child (THE WHEAT)...you will in no wise enter there in....Thats y he has to know us simply b/c without his good seed we cannot birth the Child the H.G as that which is born of the spirit is spirit...Thats the H.G that has to be born in us...The very Kingdom of God...When he breathe on them they received the H.G....Jesus pregnated them with his good seed...Thats y the Church is the elect lady....Thats y he always refers to himself as the SON OF MAN...ok lemme go....
Good post, Wisdom. Most of the time we do not ask for it and when we ask for wisdom do we know what we are asking for? As you listed in James 1:5, it is a gift from God if we ask for it.
Wisdom for what? To overcome a problem, we are facing that many times is caused by something we did or did not do that was the cause of the problem we find ourselves in. When we ask, is it for Godly wisdom or earthly wisdom? We must repent and admit we need God's wisdom in faith in God and His only begotten Son, Jesus, and ask for wisdom for the glory of God.
God gives us wisdom and understanding thru trials and problems we cause; this knowledge builds our faith and patience. 2 Peter 1:1-10 I love these verses to me they are a measure of our growth or lack of. Patience is not a natural trait of mankind; it is a fruit of the Spirit that must grow in us. This is part of the gift of wisdom God gives us, Col. 1:10-11. Our growth of patience hinges on our hope and faith in eternal life with the coming of the Lord not this world.
Saving this life or lifestyle, clinging to the things in this life hampers the growth of patience, which comes with agitation, discouragement, and a desire for retaliation. God's power and goodness are crucial to the development of our patience. Regardless of what we face without patience a fruit of the Spirit, a gift of God part of the wisdom of God we must ask for. We need it now and the time is coming for those who are here will need it, Rev. 13:10
Just a few thoughts on wisdom, may others give more.
