I don't expect anyone to reply to this post, I am honestly not trying to start anything just let the post speak for itself. ( 2 Cor 11:13-15) The word (false) is #5570; it means a spurious apostle, i.e. pretended preacher, false teacher, untrue, erroneous, deceitful, wicked, liar. The word (deceitful) is #1386; it means guileful, to decoy, a trick (bait) wile, craft, deceit. The work (workers) is #2040; it means a toiler, a teacher. The word (transforming, and transformed) is #3345; it means to transfigure or ((disguise)). The word (ministers) is #1249; it means a ((Christian (teacher) and pastor)). ((Note the words that have (teacher) in the true meaning in the Original language)) ( 2 Tim 4:3-4) The word (sound) is #5198; it means to be uncorrupt (true in doctrine) The word (doctrine) is #1319; it means instruction (the function or the information) learning, teaching. The word (teachers) is #1320; it means an instructor, master, teacher, teach. ( 1 Tim 4:1) The word (depart) is #868; it means to remove, to desist, desert, draw (fall) away. The word (seducing) is #4108; it means roving (as a tramp) by implying an impostor or misleader, deceiver. ( 2 Thessalonians 2:3) The words (falling away) is #646; it means defection from truth, ("apostasy") forsake, something separative, divorce, a (writing of divorcement) ( Matthew 7:15) The word (ravening) is #727; from "726" it means rapacious, extortion, "726" is (((Harpazo))) it means to seize, catch (away, up) pluck, pull, take (by force) This is truly worth doing a little more studying if you don't see it but are seeking the Truth. Read over this a few times and let the Word speak for itself, Please. Truth should be the most important thing we seek and desire today. May God be with all who seek His Truth in His Word. This post is not meant to offend, but to share Truth. Blessings.

    Hello Jimbob,

In the opening of this chapter Paul is warning the believers at Corinth to not let their minds be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. (verse 3). He says he is jealous for the believers with godly jealousy (verse 2) having espoused these believers to only one husband, Christ Jesus. Then he goes on to speak about anyone who come to them preaching another Jesus (a false Jesus) or another gospel false statements about Jesus and how we are saved from our sins) or if anyone receives another spirit (a deceiving spirit rather than the Spirit of God) (verse 4)

In this chapter Paul is comparing himself to false teachers and apostles, boasting a bit in his qualifications which include his sufferings and persecutions. And then in chapter 12 he speaks of having visions and revelations from the Lord, even being caught up to the third heaven and experienced things he is not allowed to reveal.

Paul did not need to prove himself as a minister of the true Gospel because his message is truth and his lifestyle shows his conversion to be true and wrought by God on the road to Damascus. But, because of the false teachers who were comparing themselves to Paul and the other apostles, he needed to speak up about them and warn these believers in whom he labors in love.

For us, knowing the true gospel of Jesus Christ and having the Scriptures to teach us are things we treasure and are to guard against corruption from false teachers. So, having a comprehensive knowledge of Scripture should be our goal in order that we can recognize false teachings and identify those who teach and preach falsely by a different spirit that the Spirit of God.

Also, we are to take care that we ourselves are of the faith passed down from the apostles and knowledgeable of sound doctrine so that we, ourselves, do not promote false teachings. Any one of us can fall in this way, so we are to watch our closely and continue in the doctrine of the apostles as the believers did in Acts.

GiGi Thank you for your response. I agree with you Paul was warning believers at Corinth to not let their minds be corrupted, but these verses are also prophecy for us today. These verses are all warning us how deception will be in the time we are living now, the Lastdays. All the verses provided in the post are for the Lastdays which is now. ( 2 Cor 11:14) Satan himself will be transformed, (disguised) as an angel of light, that will happen when Satan is cast to the earth in ( Rev 12:7-9) I think this will be the time of great tribulation, the last 3 1/2 year period. ( 2 Cor 11:15) This verse is telling us that his (Satan's ministers) are (disguised as Christian teachers and pastors) they will be disguised as ministers of righteousness. (Obviously this will not be all Christian teachers and pastors, but we should take heed to these warnings of great deception in the time we live in now coming from Christian teachers and pastors) ( 2 Thessalonians 2:3) Starts with "Let no man deceive you" This verse is prophecy for us in the Lastdays its just before the man of sin, the son of perdition is revealed, the antichrist. ( 1 Tim 4:1) Is speaking of the "latter times" that's the Lastdays which says "some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to (seducing spirits and doctrines of devils)". there will be great deception in the Lastdays time period, which is now! ( 2 Tim 4:3-4) Tells us "The time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine" (This sound doctrine would be uncorrupted doctrine, which is Truth) Again this would be speaking of the Lastdays. GiGi these are all prophecies for the time we are living now. This is why its so important for us (for everybody) to believe the Word of God as it is written. (We should not add to, nor take away anything from Scripture) And never take any mans word for the truth, unless it is clearly backed by Scripture. Thank you GiGi, God Bless you.

Jimbob! That was a really good to read. I'm in 1 Corinthians right now and I'm doing a sermon on (What Is A Godly Foundation?) Your comment couldn't have come at a better time. I started it off with 1 Corinthians 1:12-13 and then all of 1 Corinthians 3.

Thanks to you I have a lot more verses/passages to look at. So thank you! God Bless!

Yes Jimbob all the Bible is written for all believers . No matter what time they have lived in or do live in , no matter who the letters are addressed to it makes no difference . All of it is for us and to us and it should all be read as a personal letter to you , to me etc . It's not like reading a novel , it has been preserved for our benefit as individuals . God is all knowing and beyond the constraints of space and time , so is His Word , it is everlasting in its righteousness and wisdom .
