I had to look up how it's used in the bible George, I think the best description is in Hebrews 3. "The provocation", talking about the Jews in the wilderness with Moses, and how they continued to sin, hardened their hearts, still expecting to see the promise. They were, in my words, pushing it, and they pushed it too far. They provoked God one too many times. That is a great question, I don't think I've ever paid attention to that in Hebrews. God bless
