This is a comparison of 2 verses from 2 Bibles, first the KJB, then the Niv. You decide which one is the most logical, or the most accurate translation.
1st. The KJB
( Deut. 4:30) "When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days: ((if)) thou turn to the LORD thy God, ((and)) shalt be obedient unto his voice".
(The KJB says ((IF)) thou turn to the LORD thy God, ((AND)) shalt be obedient unto his voice).
This verse is conditional ((If)) thou turn to the LORD thy God, ((And)) shalt be obedient unto his voice.
2nd The Niv
(Deut.4:30 Niv) When you are in distress and all these things have happened to you, then in later days you will return to the LORD your God and obey him.
(The Niv says ((you will)) return to the LORD your God and obey him).
Is the Niv saying when in distress ((everybody)) will return to the LORD thy God and obey him?
These 2 verses have different wordings, and very different meanings which both cannot be the Truth!
( Proverbs. 30:5-6) It would seem the Niv in this verse has been found to be a liar!
If a person lies to you, do you believe them after that, Or do you see them as a liar?
The Kenites have waged war again God's true word from the beginning of the 2nd Earth age. Started in the garden with Satan getting Eve pregnant with Cain!
I think every Christian in the world should read 'What the translators of the 1611 KJV said to the reader!!! I have read it many times and continue to read it. Select the 1611 Bible icon, select introduction and scroll down to the Translators to the Reader. God Bless
I would tend to think there is truth in both statements; which is often the case in different aspects with different translations. That being said; there have been a fair number of scriptures in NIV that seem to diminish the emphasis on the Godhead in regard to Christ for example.
I would state that the nation of Israel; that one third that goes through the fire ( Zech 13:9) would be indicative of those who make it through and are physically preserved (as opposed to the other 2/3 who perish). So in terms of the individual, it is different as to whether they will turn to God or else follow Antichrist. God has a predestined plan due to covenants with the nation of Israel as well as predestined plans for those who the Father has given to the Son according to many verses in the Gospel of John. The time of "Jacob's trouble" certainly is the focus of Daniel's "70th week."

Do you believe we have God's pure, preserved Word today? As the LORD promised in ( Ps. 12:6-7) to be preserved for ever.

That is Ezekiel Chapter 13, starting with verse 15 or 16, 'I am against those who teach my children to fly to save their souls'.
