My friend and I will be heading out tonight on a trip to Arizona for three days. Please pray that all goes well with the flights, hotels, and safety on the road. I am thankful to have this mini-vacation with my friend of 20 years. I have never done this before so I am excited and know we will have a great time together.
Also please pray for Joe and Stella, two people I saw running to catch a bus and they just missed it. I offered to take them to where they were headed. They got in and I dropped them off at the DSHS office about 20 miles from where we started. We had a good conversation. I think they were homeless. Joe said he was trying to get his life together. I told him to lean on God and turn to Him. I said that God desires to bless those who love Him and serve Him. We had a great conversation on the way to their destination about a lot of things. They seemed to have great need of basic things. Joe said that he prays often. I encouraged him to do so even more. When I dropped them off I asked for them names and said I would pray for them. Your prayers are certainly welcome for them, too.
My prayers, along with brothers Chris and Spencer are also with you for a safe trip there and back home. Arizona is a great state. I was born and raised there (Phoenix). I lived there for 18 years before going into the Air Force. Anyway, enjoy your trip, have fun with your friend, and may the Lord see you both home safely.
God is faithful and gave us a great trip. Saw so much we both didn't know was there to take in. We did not have a hard and fast plan, sort of a general one of where we would go and stay each night. But each day brought us knew opportunities to take in experiences with what He has created int his state. I am hoping my husband and I can go there again in a few weeks when he retires. He wants to go on a long rode trip riding his motorcycle with me following in our car. (This is how was normall do such trips to increase safety in case something comes up, we have back up transportation, etc.)
He is not quite on board yet to decide because he is preoccupied with getting all things squared away for his departure from his job. He supervises many people and is training the person who will replace him. So, that is on his mind right now. We have time to decide yet. We won't leave any day of the Memorial Day Weekend. Too much traffic at that time.
I so appreciate your prayers and well wishes. Thanks so much.
I understand where you are coming from. You were not , however, present for this conversation to know the lead of the Holy
Spirit on me. After leaving them off, I prayed for God to open their hearts to Him and that he would send others into their lives to lead them further in the way of salvation in Jesus Christ. I trust that God will continue to work in the lives of these two and bless them with further knowledge of God in Christ.
My friend and I had a wonderful time going through the mountains, exploring Payson and Show Low, the Mogollon Rim and a few lakes up there. We went to the Thompson botanical gardens in Superior on our way back into the valley for our last day before flying out. We met up with her son and family for a late lunch before we headed to the airport. All went well in all our adventures. We were exhausted every day by the time 8:00 p.m. arrived and fell dead asleep. Never a dull moment! God blessed us in our travels and we met some wonderful people.
