    1 Samuel 13:14

But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the LORD commanded thee.

What was it that " thou hast not kept that which the LORD commanded thee"?

Seek, and ye will find ( Matthew 7:7) By seeking 'A World Deceived' you will find.

Iy is comforting to know that so many people are seeking the truth, By searching 'A World Deceived' it showed 34,200.000 Listings in Canada.

We explained earlier how Satan deceived this whole world ( Rev. 12:9) as confirmed in 2 Cor. 11:13-15 through the Religions of this world with the Mystery Babylon (The Roman Catholic Church) as its head and the Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth (other Religions that followed). It didn't refer to a particular Religion or Cult, but it referred to the whole world.

John 3:19. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

    hi, Nstew

A much discuss & debate subject on this site, Obedience, that's require in both Testaments

OT, in & of man's own ability. Which Saul continually fail to do, in this case waiting upon Samuel .

NT, the Spirit of Grace ability in mankind, its in man, but not of man, but of God. Grace will teaches & empowers man to will & do of His good pleasure, if believed in, God works by faith, that works by love

    Father, through Your tender mercies

grant all of us a greater love for You

that we would pick up our cross & be followers of Your Son. John 14:31

    Amen!

Matthew 24:24. For there shall rise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders: insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Seek 'false apostles and false Christs' and ye shall find.

Matthew 7:7. Seek, and ye shall find.

Hi Nstew. To learn of this sad situation & to the commandment that King Saul had to keep, we need to go back to 1 Samuel chapter 10. After Saul was crowned King over Israel, the prophet Samuel gave him some clear directions in this chapter. One of them was that Saul should head towards Gilgal & after he arrived there, he should wait for Samuel for seven days. After this time, Samuel would come to him, offer sacrifices & give the king further directions ( 1 Samuel 10:7,8).

However, as Saul waited for Samuel to come & the seven days had now expired & Samuel had still not arrived and seeing the fearful condition of his people as they remained before the large advancing Philistine army, took upon himself to offer the burnt offering for God's Mercies & Help upon this outnumbered dejected Saul's army. For this sin, of not abiding by God's Command (through Samuel) to wait & also for conducting the sacrifices himself which he was not authorized to do, Samuel gave Saul the stern rebuke & the promise of the loss of his kingship as a result ( 1 Samuel 13:10-14).

    Thanks Chris.

It was Samuel's failure to keep the agreed schedule of his meeting that led to "this sad situation". Why punish Saul for trying a plan B, given the perceived tragedy he was facing?

As far as human perceptions & judgements go, Nstew, I agree with you, that as Saul did, so we also, when faced with a problem we automatically look for other options (Plans B, C, etc.) to give us relief. However, Saul's situation was different. He received a clear Word from the LORD, through Samuel, & knowing how God clearly spoke through His prophets & what was spoken would come to pass, Saul should have been focussed on believing the Word given & obeying it completely. If Saul took his eyes off his circumstances & his fearful army hiding in caves & bushes & wholly trusted in the LORD, come what may, then he would have done very well & seen the "salvation of the LORD".

But he responded without faith, trusting in his plans to get them out of the mess, which also clearly mirrors how often we, even as Christians, respond in difficult, sometimes overwhelming situations. But when we do hear the Word of the LORD clearly to our hearts (from the Word read or the Holy Spirit), we must single-mindedly adhere to His Direction to know His Blessing & a perfect outcome. But if we don't obey, we, or another, might just suffer in some way, but hopefully we would have learned an important lesson to fully trust in God no matter what our minds or hearts tell us. Saul suffered & his crown was given to another.

The point you posted about Saul is significant, the LORD showed what happened with the people of Israel under the rule of the stealthy/ disguised and cynic king Saul.Very awful, as follow:

Saul reigned about two years over Israel and chose him 3.000 men;2.000 were with Saul in Michmas and in mount Bethel, and 1.000 were with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin:and the rest of the people he sent every man to his tent. And JONATHAN SMOTE the garrison of the Philistines that was in Geba, and the Philistines HEARD of it.

    SAUL AS A LIAR

But the disguised and liar king Saul blew the trumpet throughout ALL THE LAND, saying, Let the Hebrews hear(hear what?), and ALL Israel heard say that SAUL HAD SMITTEN a garrison of the Philistines. This diabolic behavior of Saul caused that Israel also was had in abomination with the Philistines.(The same occurs today with churches whose ministers are like the king Saul- 2Corinthians 11:13-15 combined with Revelation chap.2&3)

Saul was not a confidence ruler and guide, evidently: The people were called together by Saul to be in Gilgal, and the Philistines gathered themselves together to fight with Israel around 30.000 chariots, and 6000 horsemen and people as the sand that is on the sea in multitude(such as we see the enemies of God's people in whole earth today):and they came up, and pitched in Michmas, eastward from Bethaven.

When the men of Israel saw that they were in a strait,(for the people were distressed), then the people HIDE THEMSELVES in caves, and in thickets, and in rocks, and in high places, and in pits.

    The fearful PEOPLE OF ISRAEL

Very impressive the fear of the people of Israel from the enemy, but there was a reason: Some of the Hebrews went over Jordan to the land of Gad and Gilead, as for Saul he was still in Gilgal, but Samuel came not to Gilgal to the set time he had appointed, then the people were SCATTERED from Saul, and all the people followed him TREMBLING of fear,Saul was a bad ruler,a disguised and liar king

Oseas , I do not disagree with anything you said about Saul . I always try to remember this about him : he was human , weak , fearful and insecure . How many of us would have done any better in his shoes ? 1st Samuel Ch 16 V 1 and 2nd Samuel Ch 7 v 15 . We are not to rejoice in another's faults and failings . I'm very aware of my own inadequacies :) .

    Hi Jema

Saul went out to meet Samuel that he might salute him,and Samuel said to Saul: What has you done? Saul said:Because I saw that the people were SCATTERED FROM ME,and that you came not within the days appointed, and the Philistines gathered themselves together at Michmas, therefore said I,the Philistines will come down now upon me to Gilgal, and I have not made supplication unto the Lord:Then I FORCED myself therefore, and offered a burnt offering(Saul offered holocaust unworthily). And Samuel said to Saul, You has done foolishly:you has not kept the commandment of the Lord thy GOD,which he commanded thee: for now would the Lord have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever, but now your kingdom shall not continue:the Lord has sought him a man after his own heart(David),and the Lord has commanded him to be captain over his people, because you has not kept that which the Lord commanded thee.

(Saul was rejected by his disobedience, the same will occur with many Ministers of today that tolerate the prolipheration of apostasies in the churches, among other kinds of sin, even idolatries)

And Samuel arose, and got him up from Gilgal unto Gibeah of Benjamin,Saul numbered the people that were present with him, about six hundred men(it means 600 men out of 2000,many had scattered from Saul).Saul, and Jonathan his son,and the people that were present with them, abode in Gibeah of Benjamin: but the Philistines encamped in Michmas. And the spoilers came out of the camp of the Philistines in three companies.(By the way, now in the END of the times, the ENEMY is encamped in whole earth,John saw three unclean spirits like FROGS(WHY FROGS?) come out of the MOUTH of the DRAGON,and out of the MOUTH of the Beast, and out of the MOUTH of the false prophet. They are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world,to gather them to the battle of this great Day of GOD Almighty/JESUS, Behold,I COME as a thief-Rev.16:13-15.Take a look
