You don't accept somethings and leave the rest. It is whole or nothing. Faith is one. "There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;/One Lord, one faith, one baptism,/One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all./But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ."Ep.4:4-7 So you do not take piecemeal of his Son. Ask and shall be given to you. Knock and you shall find. Pray that you find your answer from the word of God.
Thank you for your reply. I will first point out where the holy bible doesn't agree with you. As we all understand Christ required faith in order to Heal people Matthew 17:20 KJV, so in essence it was peoples Faith that allowed Christ to heal. Yet, Christ is merciful whereas the law is unmerciful, so Christ understanding that it isn't about "all or nothing" concerning matters of faith therefore Christ requires only a "mustard seed" of faith (i.e. something that will grow into great faith!) Therefore, Christ gives this example: "Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth." Mark 9:23 KJV And the man whom Christ was talking to admitted something very Profound: "And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief." Mark 9:24 KJV Then Christ cast out the demon. You see Bennymkje, if what you say is true then any unbelief wouldn't allow Christ to heal someone, yet God is merciful because sometimes The Journey is just as important as The Destination. Remember Grace, for we are under Grace Today, while it is still Today!
Faith is one and, and we grow from glory to glory which is one way of progression. In our faith we grow and with experience we are stronger to accept that God is able to turn things arounds and it is in his own time so we rest in his promises. It was what Abraham did. "By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:/For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God."(He.11:9-10) Mustard seed must sprout and grow so must the leaven in three measures of meal. 'Till the whole was leavened" speaks of a lapse of time. It is what Christian living would mean. We are many branches to the true Vine drawing from his bountifulness so our fruits have a quality. 'In him was life' and it is faith living in us in the matter of our choices and pursuits. God has given what is needful for life and godliness so choices you make tell the maturity in faith. "My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not."(Pr.1:10) It is a surefire formula to make some easy money. Your faith is tested there. Next time it shall be easier to say 'no'.
I do agree with what you say, but you say "next time it shall be easier to say no." But I ask what "makes it easier"? Part of being trained in righteousness is not "blindly" doing what you are told. Otherwise we are no more than drones. God doesn't want us to "act" righteous, no, my Father Commands that I be Righteous! What is the difference, you ask? Mistakes. You see, if I simply follow the rules, even the rules of God, I remain unknowing thereby leaving "the door" open for sin; because God says "no!", and satan asks "why not?!". If I don't have an answer for satan's question then doubt will worm it's way in me. But, if I do have an answer The Protection of God is my reward! The TRUE question is how: How do I get The Answer? And the answer to that question is: make mistakes & Learn from them! You see, if satan tempts me to play with fire (i.e. sin), if I think that there is a way to "make it work for my good" then it will gnaw at my mind incessantly until I partake of it; with the end result being that I'm guilty of transgression. But, if I have, in making many mistakes until I UNDERSTAND that there is no way that I will not "get burned" by playing with fire; there is Absolutely Nothing that satan can tempt me with! Thus, satan is rendered powerless because he doesn't even have the power to even tempt me. And all this was learned from God allowing me to make mistakes (sin) & learn from them. (Note: God allowing me to make a mistake (sin) is NOT the same as giving permission to sin)
